Hey Septic. Remember you swore to eat crow if cloud-based physics and destruction in Crackdown 3 turned out to be a lie? What have you got to say now? The trailer didnt show any physics and destruction. They didnt even mention cloud computing? Still believe cloud computing on Xbox One is real?? Lol.
The purpose of a console is to play games especially exclusive games and not "4K after 4K after 4K." If it does not have exclusive games that define it then "true native 4K after 4K" means nothing.
@Darth72
So Darth what do you say now? I told you they had nothing under development and they wouldnt announce any unknown games. You said it would suck if that happened on top of $500 price.
What exactly did the author see that won him over?? Any megaton announcements or new AAA exclusives that cannot be played on PS4 and PS4 Pro? Out of those 42 games and 22 "exclusives" only 7 are actually exclusive and not releasing on PS4.
Forza 7
State of Decay 2
Sea of Thieves
Super Lucky's Tale (sequel to Lucky's Tale on Oculus)
Cuphead
Crackdown 3
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
What the hell is the author talking about?? Has he been living in an alternate reality or is this article a deliberate clickbait? The conference was a disaster with not a single megaton announcement and was full of timed exclusive indies. Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 looked terrible. Crackdown 3 did not even show any gameplay and cloud physics or destruction. Forza 7 looked gorgeous but it was expected as it has become an annual series being milked ...
The deal paid off?? The game bombed and has been all but forgotten. Despite executives claiming they are satisfied with the sales (they always say that), they did not provide any sales figures for the game which is evidence enough that the deal ruined the game's sales. The last one sold 8.5 million copies and this time we have no figures even after 2 years except for 1 million shipped on Xbox One. The deal was a disaster.
The price is definitely too high especially since they did not show a single megaton exclusive to justify a $500 purchase. State of Decay 2 looked like a low budget game with crappy animations and gameplay. Crackdown 3 looked even worse with horrible graphics and no cloud physics or destruction in sight. Sea of Thieves is still a mystery and needed a storybook narration to help people understand what the game is all about. 90% of the "22 exclusives" were timed and indies. Why the he...
That trailer made the game look like a crappy, cheesy, B-grade trash... Where are the cloud physics and destruction? Where is the power of Xbox One X on display in this AAA exclusive? Where is the actual gameplay?
That was a disaster.
I can agree with you on that. Only a few hours to go and then we will find out everything hopefully. Actually I am pretty excited for MS conference and counting hours since yesterday even though I dont own an Xbox One. It is just exciting to see new hardware, software, and IPs.
Of which there are very few in the world right now. Only a small percentage of people actually have 4K TVs so the potential market is already small. Plus the lack of high quality exclusives especially new IPs and the market shrinks even more. Even the most powerful gaming PC in the world is useless if you havent got anything to play on it.
And what if it doesn't have any games either? Because unless they have some studios hidden underground somewhere, they dont have anything under development except for the age old Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay, and Cuphead. And even those games have no guarantee of quality and success as shown by numerous Xbox One flops. What will you say then? $500 price plus lack of games is a recipe for disaster.
So this is that "Destiny-esque" service game that Bioware Edmonton has been working on... Looks like MS has secured a marketing deal for this one. It looks like it is going against Destiny head to head.
Nothing wrong with enjoying the game bro. If you enjoy it then good for you. It is not a terrible game by any means but it just isnt up to Mass Effect standards and that is why it is disappointing. There will still be plenty of people who will enjoy it for what it offers.
Inexperience, bad project management, messy pre-production, and indecisiveness. Simple. They spent three years trying to make a procedurally generated Mass Effect and then finally realized after wasting 3 years that it wasn't working out so they scrapped everything and created the current game in the remaining 2 years of development. ME Andromeda is what you get when a team of noobs tries to create a AAA game in 2 years on an engine created for shooters.
