Me too! A good game is a good game. If you build it they will come….
You’re right hardware doesn’t make as much money as software. The problem is Game Pass kills a lot of sales. If it’s killing 300 mill a year for COD. It’s gotta be killing smaller games.
The Netflix model for gaming doesn’t work. There’s too many games and there’s a big difference between the length of games and movies. If Xbox losses 300 million in sales every year for just COD, it’s gotta be losing money for sales on every game. They will never pay for the Activision purchase at that rate. Plus I don’t buy games every month and the 30$ price tag per month is too steep now. I don’t think this will be the last price hike. Wonder how long before the plug gets pulled on GP??
And continues to let Trump carry the Epstein torch
@isarai probably loves Call of Duty

I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve said MS is going to cause the down fall of games for a while. They buy all these studios and turn them into a games mill. The quality of most of the games coming from MS are just forgettable games. When your fan base becomes comfortable just subscribing…that’s not sustainable. So the only answer is to make cheaper forgettable games. Thats why I’m more than happy to pay for my games. Sure I subscribe to PS Plus but I don’t want d...
I’m so ready for this game!!!
@WutoGCM
It went multiplat because the contract was only for 5 years. It sold 5 million across ps5 and pc. Definitely didn’t sell on Xbox. It went straight to game pass.
I can’t wait to play this! Just finished my 3rd play through of DS just to get ready for it. That Magellan Man Statue gonna look real sweet on my table!
Revenue is different from profit. If Game Pass was doing what Microsoft wanted then Xbox wouldn’t be going multi platform. I really wish that they would say their real numbers. Not just some kind of spin that sounds good until you dig in. I’d be willing to bet it’s still losing money.
Thank you Bishop!!
It doesn’t hurt sales right now. In the long term it will most definitely hurt sales.
I think these kind of problems are the results of buying studios during Covid. You know companies were way more relaxed during those years. Probably a bunch of Zoom meetings and thumbs up. Then the product came out and boom a dud. So they absorb the people close the studio. As far as live service games. Warhawk is the one. I really think that game could thrive as a free to play LS game. The LS games can help pay for the big single player games. All they need is 2-3 hits. They got one with Hel...
What did they win?? The chance to go third party because they sure as hell can’t sell a console.
Ok so the majority of PlayStation titles on their subscription services are usually at least 8 -12 months from release. They tried Horizon forbidden west out on the service. Yes it killed a lot of sales. That’s why they wait until most of their games have flatlined on sales before going to ps+. Day and date like Xbox game pass is completely different.
I think it was college football releasing
@stanlittle
You take away the Activision number and Xbox doesn’t look so hot. They’ve tried to buy the crown. Now they are gonna be out of the console business soon. 3rd party all the way. It’s the only way for them to make money and justify the Activision purchase. So don’t roll in here and start throwing numbers out.
In my opinion everybody no matter what business they are in over hired during Covid. The manufacturing side had its corrections last year. This year is the video game industry correcting itself. I don’t think any of these companies are in danger. It’s just the way it is. It’s awful but this cycle happens after world events like pandemics. This year may be a down year but next year will be more of a normal year.
I love how fast the devs are addressing every problem. These guys are great. Sony needs to put a ring on it quick!
Activision and Bethesda make the money. Xbox literally had to buy someone else so the books look good. Then gamepass eats a lot of that profit.
