I'd chalk it up to be an issue of overall tech-experience. The fact of the matter is that consoles turn on and go with the manufacturers doing the "IT" management. A gaming PC requires extra knowledge on how to configure the extra things.
Most people don't realize that Plug-n-Play exists that makes configuration simple on a basic level. It's a knowledge/effort barrier, not a cost-related one. It's sort of like the whole Android vs iPhone debate. You ...
Progressively speaking, shouldn't the latest iteration of any gaming franchise be the best that has ever been made respectfully. I just find the comments, "This is the best that we've ever done" type statements really obvious in nature. Like FIFA 13 wasn't better than FIFA 12, right?
Well, to be fair. Excluding MW3 which I regard as a Sledgehammer Games production, Infinity Ward consistently ups the ante in their games. Treyarch's games really don't impress me as much because all of the research and true dev work is done by IW. No opinions here, just look up the development cycles for CoD.
It's possible. I know that Amazon and GameStop receive their stock sometime next week for endpoint distribution. Either way November 2013 is probably going to be known as the month that broke UPS. You probably already notice the UPS trucks running later than normal here in the States. It begins!
Wow, 18 people don't know how to take a joke lmao
The way I see it, if you invest a couple thousand just to game on a PC, you deserve and likely will have a better/more fluid graphical experience. After all, the PS4 and X1 are just specialized gaming versions of FreeBSD Linux and Windows 8.1.
Activision likely stepped in after some MS rage. The fact of the matter is that the Xbox line is Activision's biggest benefactor, and saying that the game is better on PS4 could also open the door for CoD fans to jump over to BF4. Smart decision on Activision's part, but I think Sony should flaunt it ESPECIALLY since nearly every CoD game that has come out before has had worse resolution than its Xbox counterpart.
Yeah, very happy about the news although it's interesting that the next update isn't slated to as far back as early 2014. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely out of the norm as far as Playstation goes. Kinda makes you wonder how many updates the PS2 would have had if it were universally connected, huh?
Dude, just get a can of PlastiDip lol
It almost seems like X1 comes out on top here though from a console perspective though... It's a money game, always has been. With the $100 price difference with seemingly inferior hardware and Live absolutely being necessary, I wonder how much profit MS is making per console, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is more than Sony at the moment. On the flipside, I wonder how much Sony makes off of each X1 for the Blu-Ray technology. Just interesting, really.
You also have to account for the fact that these consoles inherently launch gameless as in you have to purchase a game to use the console for its intended purpose (excluding free-to-play games), so I think an attach rate comparison would be inaccurate unless you account for the age of the generations.
For instance, if you ask people if they've gone to the hospital in the last year, you might get a 1 in 4 result. But, throw newborns in the mix, and it's more like 2 in ...
You've gotta feel sorry for Mark Cerny though... He's the lead PS4 architect, basically responsible for all this greatness to come... yet, his game is getting almost no attention. Hopefully, it pulls up in digital sales.
No support for media servers... Gotta admit, that's a big hit for me... Still getting it, and I'm excited, but it's odd that they would take this out (or rather, not put it in)
lol No doubt, if you've got the horsepower for it, the PC version of any game will be better.
...At least you can still use the PS4 controller to play. All in all, you get what you pay for.
lol Come on, it's better than that!
In the PS4 version, nearly all of the textures are upgraded. Observe the wood grain, hair, battle marks on the armor, the rustic look of the wheel. On top of that, there are many other small things happening in the background like between :45 - :55 where you have the shadow from the ropes on the ship displayed on the black guy as the ship is moving in the PS4 version, but not the PS3 version. Either way, I think this is more testament t...
lol I don't think Sony would patch it out either. Hell, I'd add the extra support for it. Yeah, MS make a tiny bit more profit, but the controller debate effectively stops immediately. What reason not to buy the cheaper/more powerful console then?
You CLEARLY see the cable at :35... wtf?
@Death: The video you posted shows the UI and a game playing offline. Don't you ind that kind of odd considering the console was touted as an always on machine? The issue isn't when you try to play games or getting to the UI; it's network connectivity as it relates to VOIP and OS-related online features. Basically in a nutshell, XBL isn't playing nice with X1. It's ironic really that the reasons that PS3 users sort of had to shut up when talking about online features now a...
It's an interesting instance, this. Here's the thing: it looks downgraded, because more shadowing was added to give a better sense of depth. As pictures, the old build would look better, but this being a moving and dynamic game, the shadows as it does improve quality as in most other games. Look up Ambient Occlusion. All in all, I don't think that screenshots do any of these games justice; if there is to a comparison, it should video clips of the game. Either way, I can't wait...
I think people are mistaking quality with brightness. A few things have been scaled down in terms of detail, yes. But, in terms of overall detail, there is quite a bit more implemented. Also, I'd be hard pressed if anyone could say that the new build screenshots look 2D. Although the old build looks shinier, it doesn't give you that sense of depth which I would argue is one of the most important factors in FPS's.
Okay, so let's analyze exactly what is going on here.
-Overall gameplay is 60fps with serious stutter right before checkpoints only in the campaign.
-On both systems, the game functionally runs straight from RAM space which shouldn't cause any sort of stutter.
-Reaching a checkpoint is functionally just like saving which goes to the HDD.
Since it is hard to believe that checkpoints would be cause for high CPU load ...
