Fairly significant difference here!

I can see some of the differences. It looks like some of the blur effects were left out of the X1 version as well (notice right when the yellow car pops up and some of the dust kicked up by the police car. In addition there a some reflection differences(police car window during drift), lighting differences (police car license plate), and draw detail differences (trees in the distance when the police car is on the curved road). But aside from that, it seems they got the game running pretty fl...

Either way, I think Foxconn just lost a contract. Hopefully we see another company take the rise from this situation, because any way you slice it, the problem belongs to Foxconn's leadership for treating their employees like crap.

I think a bunch of us analyzed the information here incorrectly (including me)... At first when I read through, I thought "140 degrees F is pretty darn cool for a processor in mid-heavy operation", but then I realized my mistake. The temperature that we see is not of the processor, but rather the console casing. BIG difference there. Just for reference, for anybody that isn't too technical, the hot water in your house (in the states at least) almost never goes above 120 degrees ...

Plus, you also take into account that the consoles act as a medium incentive to buy other products. For Sony's PS4, you get an increased sale of Bravia HDTV's, an increase in home theater systems, and a little bit royalty from all Blu-Ray media sold. I'd imagine MS's X1 will "help" people warm up to Windows 8-10 over the years. Nothing wrong with that, but given that perspective considering that the PS2 pushed DVD's in a manner and PS3 pushed Blu-Ray, plus Sony m...

Don't forget the royalties for each X1 sold as well for Blu-Ray tech! lol

In any case, they designed the "package" the be profitable. What impresses me is the fact that they do this without third-party advertisements save for a promotion here and there.

It's all mutual! I mean, if you really think about it, the PS1 and PS2 laid the foundation for the Xbox and the 360, which in turn pushed Sony to create the PS3 and PS4.

Being somewhat of a Sony fanboy, I can admit that the 360 pretty much won the majority of this gen's gamers' money and hearts. However, the next generation looks poised to give the PS4 the crown if not for some time. To M$'s credit, they made some pretty awesome changes to their console from f...

Here's the more in-depth version. Adds a bit more detail for the review scores, and it actually makes sense.

I'm pretty sure if you can read this article, you will be just fine... And if you don't have internet (not to be inconsiderate), you won't be missing too much as it seems the update mainly focuses on the online functionality of the console.

Well, let's be fair, the concept is rock solid on a networking level. The entertainment concept is a big win as well. Hell, even the heavily misunderstood DRM policies would have been great in the long run ESPECIALLY for developers. But the thing that they failed to realize is that in any sort of computing, the weakest component defines the overall system performance, and in this case, it is the client system itself. Seriously now, if MS had just made Kinect optional for now and invested ...

It's hilarious that save for the two racing games, killing sprees are highly encouraged in the rest of the games depicted in a trailer with the song playing, "So Alive". They need to use this song for the next Assassin's Creed commercial! lol Pure hilarity!

Well, the MP "saving" happens server-side. The Campaign has stuttering, but only around checkpoints, so it's likely just a saving issue either stemming directly from the engine or perhaps provoked by hard drive access. Since the stuttering is reported on the X1 as well, it's probably just the engine not doing something right or a misprioritized process.

Sigh.

Host updates typically require host reboots. And a reboot is a reboot whether you're gaming or using your microwave, but I think the writers here are playing dumb. If you have 300,000 servers running, it's pretty evident that while you can update them all at the same time, rebooting typically happens in phases. And it is VERY easy to program a "no new clients until reboot" mandate on the servers and then execute a "reboot when number of clients is...

I think it's the fact that Activision releases a game every year. Also, I think that is why most of the multiplatform games are releasing before the next gen releases. Both BF4 and Ghosts are good examples of improved and expanded last-gen engines that function in the "next-gen" environment.

Also, you have to consider the launch as a reset point for these games. For EA, BF4 has quite a bit to prove especially since CoD apparently has the "crown", so fo...

I think we're missing the point of the detail of which GPU was chosen for the max settings demonstration. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the HD7970 the GPU that both the X1 and PS4 are based off of?

And let's face it, a well invested PC running nearly any game will always have better looking games than its console counterparts. The opposing argument is simply one of an idiot. What defines the schism between PC gamers and console gamers are obviously tech level and...

Well, that's the funny thing. I have the "big three". I'm getting the launch PS4, getting the X1 (although not launch), and I already have a AMD-based PC with a TITAN and 32GB of DDR3.

The fact of the matter is simply that the most important factor in a game is how fun it is. If it was purely graphical fidelity, then some of the last gen titles could arguably bury next-gen Ghosts. One of the factors in MY decision making is what platform the game will be mos...

I think the reason why the game doesn't look as good it should is because the fact that the game is also released on the last-gen consoles. There's enough graphical balance between the versions where I can honestly say that sales won't suffer on any platform in lieu of another... including PC.

Let's take the graphical fidelity of Ghosts as a business decision and not a development one although it is a bit concerning that despite the obvious downgrade, the X1 c...

Doesn't look all that great especially maxed out on a PC, but it does look like it will be pretty fun though. Looking forward to this on the PS4.
