The XL is worth it if you've big hands that cramp with a normal DS. Speaking from experience here.
I'm a collector's edition fanatic, but that's beyond the point of no return for me. I just dropped $150 on the Guild Wars 2 collector's edition and I don't see myself spending any more than that on future collector's editions.
Of course, Guild Wars 2 is a special occasion, I absolutely loved the first game and I wish to shower ArenaNet with money. $1,300? Yeah, no. Sorry.
Whatever. Multiplayer or not, Ken Levine is still behind this, and that's enough reason for me to get this on launch.

I'm not into moba games either, as grailly said. But I'm having a blast with this game so far. Really digging the 80's/90's Saturday morning cartoon vibe as well.
Color me tasteless, but I'd prefer a soundtrack / statue as opposed to some $5/$10 ho-hum DLC.
You should be getting COLLECTIBLE items in the COLLECTOR'S edition. Not DLC that everyone can purchase.
