Also no it's not similar to RE at all. SEGA owns the Bayo IP but Nintendo owns the source code for Bayo 2 and 3. That is staying as it's viable where W101 was not.
Bayonetta is a valuable IP that makes money. She's in Smash. W101 was bomba. Sold much worse than TMS which also bombed on Wii U. In fact, this makes it more likely Bayo series stays on Switch. This built a good reputation as W101 was a passion project for them. They will work even closer with Nintendo after this.

So the story goes. Nintendo is still co-owner of the IP. Platinum wanted to take it multiplatform. Nintendo said either you make the game Switch exclusive or publish it multiplatform on your own, So they gave the okay. This seemed to have gone down before Astral Chain released and became a success. I think this shows Nintendo really does want to keep Platinum around.
I mean a few years ago Retro did hire former Naughty Dog devs and ID Tech. Dunno if they are still there tho. I remember seeing some Vigil Game staff make the move after THQ folded but it seems they left Retro after Tropical Freeze to work at Gunfire.
6 years on their successful systems. DS and Wii were 6 years. 3DS is an exception as it had to carry Nintendo during the Wii U era and needed it as a fallback in case Switch failed.

Heard a lot of good things about the game. If they put it on PS4 without the VR (Star Trek Bridge Commander made it possible) then I will be glad to check it out.

The name of their new publishing branch with some newly published games. They are teasing a new Nier/Drakengard game. Same font and glitch effect as NA. Maybe that new IP action game they teased a while back that they said is unlike anything ever made.

Wonderboy Dragon's Trap. Ys VIII. Yakuza Kiwami. Ghost Blade HD. That's before I get into HD remasters. 2017 was just a wild year for me as a PS4 owner. I loved these games. Only PS4 games I have pre-ordered in 2020 are Bayo/VanQuish combo (games I own a few times over) Yakuza Collection, ...
