Spoiled on JRPG remakes these last couple months. FFVIIR,Trials of Mana and Xenoblade Remake. Top all that off Sakura Wars Reboot.
We shall see how they improve on near perfection of an OST.

Aside from FFXV,Square games just use Unreal 4. Same engine as Octopath Traveler,Trials of Mana,KIngdom Hearts III and so on.
I think it is or at least in planning as there is that released concept art of FFXVI with the massive castle on a cliff.
It's not ugly. They look clean and colorful. It's Unreal 4 just like FF7R but Mana has a smaller budget. Game looks nice. Not everything that looks nice has to look as good as FF7R. Has great art direction and clean and colorful and that is plenty to make a pleasent looking game.
Trials of Mana is an excellent remake. The core game is there. It just expanded on the gameplay and mechanics while keeping the spirit the same. The characters and the story unchanged. That's what I was hoping for FF7R. Instead, it became Terminator Genisys. Some may love that. Others not so much. It's going to be divisive.
That art is HIDEOUS! As bad as Battleborn. No one gave a shit about this bad Anarchy Riegns/Overwatch wanna be.
