Yeah, what I wrote here applies to all companies, but being a gaming blog I related it to publishers only. Self-respecting companies are far and few between, how very unfortunate for us that is.

The reliance of companies on the stock market is a showing of their product's weakness. The stock of a company should rise because of the general success or quality of their products, not because of misleading info that a game will sell because it now appeals to a different, more ...

It should be noted that I haven't played either game, but I have a theory. Prototype didn't sell well because some gamers didn't care for the game, they thought it was bad. Making a sequel for a game that not a lot of people cared about (think Final Fantasy 13 and Final Fantasy 13-2, 13-2 sold horribly) almost guarantees the failure of the game. There's always a chance that it will do good, but FF13-2 was a great sequel and still sold horribly because nobody liked the first. M...

Agreed, it would mean he's being recognized by the gaming industry, which is really cool if you ask me.

Whoops, didn't mean screenshots, late night mistake. My bad. Concept art*

Edit: Keep missing entire words, either keyboard's screwy, or I am.

Oh, it's very hard to make a game with an in-depth story, I can imagine the inconsistancies (also plot holes) are a bigger risk and require great talent.

I wrote a 3000 word fairy tale for my grade 12 creative writing course, and I found it rather difficult to keep the story moving forward, while developing characters, while being consistent. I actually forgot to follow up on a plot point I'd made earlier in the story, so that's a negative point there. It's v...

Robbaz is popular, and he's about the only youtuber I watch, but he swears a lot. He's for more of a mature audience that can handle some sour jokes/language. This game is an interactive children's book and wouldn't work, imo, on Robbaz's channel.

For future, more teen to adult games, I would say go for it!

That would be great, I'd love to see Type-0 go to Vita.

Lol, clapping, I'm flattered.

This is about as in-depth as my gaming industry knowledge will go (I have less knowledge about investors/profits from games). If you have any further info that could benefit myself and any readers, I'm all ears.. eyes :P

I try not to hate, but I strongly dislike how the industry works like that, so sometimes I do on that level. I also try to hate in a respectful manner, but that's heavily contradictory.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the compliments.

It is a great game, I'm going to replay it when I have time on New Game Plus to try and fully complete it. The sound score was used effectively, but it was mostly "sad." Not that I cried from the songs, just that's the tone they all gave off. There could have been different songs that deliver a rush when fighting. Songs that can make me feel a wider array of emotions. That's the way I saw it, I still think the ...

I didn't mean to say that minimalist stories in games are crappy, it's just that they tend to be minimalist, with none of the deeper themes of a game like SotC (which I love).

My user review of Bastion covers its own minimalistic story and how it's in fact quite deep. Although, not enough people give it credit for that.

I prefer games that have weightier stories, but I still strongly enjoy games like Bastion. There are just more games like Bastion...

Didn't catch that quote, thanks.

At least it'll give dubstep a purpose.

I consider Skyrim to be half-silent, because it isn't quite voiced or silent, but written. However, the written dialogue for your character is horrible and adds no depth to your character in any way.

Agreed about Gordon, that's the only disappointing thing about Half-Life.

When I beat the game I'll get back to you with my final verdict. But so far, the most amazing thing about this game, to myself, has been the artistic design of the game. Absolutely everything is so utterly detailed it's insane, it blows my mind.

The story is minimalist, unfortunately, I'm up to Mr. Freeze, and his dedication to his wife is quite emotional. And Batman does have a few moments where he selflessly pursues his cause without even thinking about himself...

My immediate reaction when I saw these screenshots was, "Gotta download 'em all." It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but it's still what I thought.

I think, I'm not sure, but I think it's the publishers that push for the sexualization of games. I'd like to think that the developers that make our games respect us enough to maintain gaming integrity. However, I'm sure that's not the case with some devs/pubs. Basically, I'd like devs/pubs to keep porn out of my games. Sex in a game that develops the plot for the better is not porn, therefore it has a place in my games.

Either they wait for a good game or take their chances now for a buggy one. That's really all there is to it. I'm leaving the morals of selling people a season pass and then not giving a firm release date out of this comment though.

Many others wouldn't agree according to one of my blog posts. But, they did make me realize something. It's possible to create an character that has a lot of depth using only animations. Say in Limbo, the boy walked by some flowers, and without your control (or with, depends on what you're going for) he smells them, picks one and takes it with him. That tells you he's gentle. Rather that 'would' tell you he's gentle. Little things add up though, so continued animat...

I'd like to see developers across all platforms take more risks when it comes to story. After all, if it's going to be crappy and minimalist, you might as well try to beef it up in the hopes that it becomes good and full of depth. I'd rather devs attempt in-depth stories, because in the few that will screw up, there will always be a few that succeed. The problem is that developers aren't entirely well-off this generation, so playing it safe is often the only way to guarantee f...

Sex doesn't sell to all gamers, I'm sure it sells to some, but not all. I've never purchased the Dead or Alive games because I don't care for that stuff, but I imagine mainly casuals care for that stuff. They tend not to care about the "integrity of gaming." Should a gamer buy Dead or Alive, it's his/her personal preference, and he/she should not be judged, it's not entirely fair. Maybe they see something in it that we don't. After all, if they are "...
