more players and movies. That's the bottom line.

I thoght a few post ago you were incorrectly stating MPEG-2's superiority? Did you read my links? Glad we got this straight. No Blu-Ray will approach the quality HD-DVD had from day one!

will pick up. The PS3 is a huge dissapointment. It's flaws are already showing. The in-game graphics are pixalated and jaggy at HD resolutions? Developers have to trade off performance features (HDR, AA, and texture resolution) to get the games running. That's what happens when you use a GPU released in 2005. The 360 does HDR and AA with no impact on GPU performance. After seeing the PS3 in action, your clearly paying mostly for a Blu-Ray drive with game capabilites that DO NOT match the 360'...

128-bit HDR is false. The RSX is a modefied 7800 GTX, which launched in mid 2005. It utilizes the NA032 format, a hacked version of HDR similar to what valve does to allow HDR+AA so it takes far more resources to make it happen than it would be to incorporate true HDR on the 360's GPU or any other gpu for that matter. It hurts the RSX as far as power for other things goes with such a method.

This adds drwawbacks as well. GPUs usually support hardware blending in RGB color spac...

Your "facts" are absolutely wrong. MPEG2 is a COMRESSION standart optomized for 480p, thus DVD quality. This is why Blu-Ray movies look inferior to HD-DVD ones. VC1 is a High definiton compression format, and used by every HD-DVD movie. If you read the links, VC-1 is mandatory for both players, but most Blu-Ray movies did not use this codec.

Also, why pay extra for Blu-Ray movies when you get superior picture and sound for cheaper with HD-DVD.

HD-DVD also has dual-format movies out, as well as the interactive movie experience on them. Blu-Ray has one movie like that (black Hawk Down) but only a cheap imitation.

HD-DVD will continue to outsell and gain more industy support. You can't base the entire home mo...

That's becausee the HD-DVD add-on is selling very well, and difficult to find.

360 has HD content on demand, downloaded directly to the hard drive. So like PS#, only the HDTV is the "bottleneck".

you don't play much xbox arcade.

Let's see, Sony does another half-assed rip-off, and the Fanboys go nutz!!!

Are you guys so brainwashed that you think Sony can compete in online? I guess it's nice to have dreams.

for the PS3 (Resistance) and the Japanese hate 1st person shooter, it didn't take much for this title to be #1. I wonder how pissed off the Japanese people were after spending so much money on a PS3 setup and firing up Gundam?

This game has got to be the most overhyped game this year. And like you guys, I have played the demo.

Just a desparate attempt by Sony to say "there's more than Resistance...we promise! Please wait and buy our system!"

did your Playstation Monthly tell you that?

A CPU arguement is valid, as there are many factors to consider.

A GPU arguement is not. This is one area where the 360 hands down wins.

Thats what happens when you slap in a desktop GPU from a few years ago.

I don't see how this open world GTA style is going to work with this type of game. If they fail to implement this properly, bith systems will have new coaster. It doen't matter how pretyy the game and crashes are. athe hole fun of the series was arcade style smash-em-up racing and specific crash junctions. I think they might fudge this one up....

I'm really looking foward to part 5. I will say the past verisons did look better on the xbox than PS3.

On the developers side, I don't think porting to the 360 will be a problem. Every other developer has prasied the ease of developement and supprt from Microsoft. Since the PS3 isn't more pwerful than the 360, they can get the hard part over with, and port it over. I jsut hope this process doesn't limit the game overall.

And DJ, there is NO evidence either versi...

I thought a pink PS2 was a bad idea, and teased my local PS fanboys with it for a week. Who would of thought people would buy these? I'll hold back on the girl and homosexual jokes.

I'm predicting a pink PS3 in the spring to counter the 360 price drop. You heard it here first folks!

I didn't mean to stir up another system power arguement. STAY AWAY DJ!!!!!!!!!

I am excited if this turns out to be true. I have been playing MG since the original on the NES, up to MGS2 on the xbox. They kind of lost me with that one, but MGS4 looks very promising.

If this IS true, I hope they do a quality port, not hand it over to some rookie studio to do the 360 version. Everyone should know by know that the 360 is AT LEAST EQUAL and in several ways superior to the PS3 from a technical standpoint. All we need is a sloppy port and the brainwashed PS3 fa...
