I will be curious to see how graphically intense the games on it would be. I can't imagine the amount of heat that'll be generated by the GPU if the games are clocking full HD.
Well the EG article says b/c is out - which would be a big move by Nintendo (Given that they've supported previous consoles for the longest time)
Makes sense if there's such a huge move away from the established ecosystem.
I'm quietly hoping that the base station which connects the console to the TV has its own GPU, allowing for proper upscaling. That would be the best solution for all parties.
I'm not doubting the quality of the games. Nintendo does first party games better than anyone. I'm just a bit worried by the perceived limitations of the tech that will underpin it.
I'm more worried about battery life in the device. If the rumoured specs pan out, and the controllers dock into the system to charge, this device is going to need one heck of a battery onboard to keep everything going on the move. The Eurogamer article doesn't even try to address this issue or make mention of the planned battery.
What kind of battery is going to be powering this magical device? Last time I checked, a high end Tegra + HD screen + controllers that charge from the device would drain quickly from the devices battery - something Eurogamer conveniently leap over.
I don't buy these rumors sadly.
To most non-gamers it doesn't matter how many man hours and hundreds of people work on a game (All games are worked on by skilled workers of varying degree). A video game is a video game. Artistic value is only perceived from those that can appreciate it. To the people critical of gaming; no matter what form a video game takes (Whether it be Uncharted or Pokemon GO), video games are silly time-sinks unworthy of higher artistic appraisal yet worthy of derision and snobbery.
This is a news piece, why are you speculating in the title?
Agreed. Was very frustrating and very misleading in the end.
Exceptionally misleading title and belongs on Filmwatch - not N4G
This is a fan web-series, not a TV series. It has nothing to do with Bethesda or their Fallout property.
Witcher 2's arguably the most far reaching. I guess the only reason I didn't slide it higher up the list was because some of the others genuinely made me sad - whereas that one was more calculated.
No complaints from us. Very good outing - criminally underrated in history of last gen.
I actually didn't like the offered up by TWD: Season 2. A lot of the characters felt like they were here just to get offed - felt cheap by Chapter 5. Ending was similarly disappointing.
If you buy from EA, it's always the renegade option
I think its because some games want you have the emotional connection without really letting you explore it. It's a shame but then again, branching stories would be a nightmare to program.
When you'd try to sneak a finisher in at the start of the match so you got the edge. Arcade WWE games were the best.
Only issue with this is the limitation in WiFi capabilities. The updated versions brought the R/B/Y games made good use of wifi - something that would make battling friends better.
But yeah, your point is valid for Android users
It would be a way of bringing the games that made the franchise popular in the first place to a whole new generation of gamers.
We had a top end PC in 96 which my dad bought. Playing the N64 felt different in a good way - different tone of games. Mario 64 blew my six year old mind!
Exactly. Even the PC-gaming tablets that use Windows components aren't matching the level of Xbox One/PS4 and they're $800+.
