Took 2 hours last night but got there eventually. Not sure if I'm a bit mental though - spending £569 on a handheld is a lot of money. I paid £450 on my PS5 so the Deck costs around £120 more. Of course I didn't have to go for the 512gb model, but I wanted the top model. Really looking forward to it.

Took me 2 hours to get my reservation. I wouldn't say it was too much of an issue. Had a few issues with payment not going through so I logged off and came back on a coupe of hours later and all was good.

Nah this is nothing like the scale of those launches. For one thing the steam deck is only available through steam, you can't get it elsewhere.

Took over 2 hours because of issues with payment. Got there eventually though. Reserved a 512gb, £4 reservation fee. Estimated availability is Q2 2022 so I'm not expecting to actually have it in my hands until April - June next year. It's going to be a long wait

Having said that, I guess that would nullify the entire idea of it being cloud based because then you'd need to make sure your system is capable and that would limit the devices games would run on. You couldn't play doom eternal on a phone for example.

Yeah that was one of the reasons for me as well. That'll make a big difference when using it outdoors.
