Insomniac and Bethesda have managed it. Sure you might take a bit on the resolution but they proved it can be done
If implemented correctly it can make a big difference to the overall look of a game. Try playing R&C Rift Apart and Doom Eternal with and without RT and you'll see what a big difference it makes to the visuals. There's no harm in having options. You're not forced to use them
Doom Eternal on PS5 has RT, runs at 60fps with a resolution of 1800p...
Insomniac managed to get 60fps with RT on R&C, Spider-Man and Miles Morales. If they can do it in open world games then why can e not have the same in a relatively closed racing game? I realise the resolution will be lower, but it must be possible surely?
Bethesda managed to get 60fps with RT working in Doom Eternal as well, and it runs at 1800p which isn't bad at all
Can we have RT AND 60fps though? I don't mind the lower resolution that will be inevitable with such a mode. It's how I played Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and I'm using the RT mode on Doom Eternal. Resolution isn't important to me
I agree. They have set a precedent that Sony need to follow and we're starting to see this now. Microsoft aren't interested in competing, they want to own and control the industry. I don't have a lot of excitement for the future of th games industry as a whole tbh.

PS5 easily for me. GT7 and Horizon are both this year, and hopefully GoW too.

It's the Dualsense feedback and 3D audio that I'm most looking forward to. If it works it should really enhance the feel of the game. Oh and that weather simulation is crazy
