Best New IP.
But it MIGHT be on Game Pass...one day. It's almost as if they've been conditioned not to buy games at launch anymore.
What's also interesting is that xbox one owners are buying games more than series x owners, but the reverse is true for playstation, with ps5 owners out-buying ps4 owners.
The Xbox One was also ahead of the 360 by over 1 million in the same time frame. There is no doubt that these consoles will sell really well in their first year or two on the market. The really question is can the keep the momentum going. It's a tough call for MS.
While their aquisitions have incitivized many to purchase an Series X/S, Game Pass and everything being on PC may have the reverse effect - at least on the console sales front. Engagement on their service be ...
At the very least I commend Sony for how transparent therr overall report is, everything is very clear and nothing is left up to the imagination. There is no PR spin here, it's just raw data.
more like it's closing in on the original Gameboy.
trash on console? maybe on n64 but the ps1 version has those awesome cg endings. not to mention goro was added for the console release.
Probably one of the dumbest takes ever.
what point are they making with a 5/10 other than to say 1) it has technical issues and 2) they didn't like it?
this game looks way better than i expected it to be
So you only agree with reviews they align with your view of the game? It's great that you are enjoying it, but a lot of reviewers aren't. I felt the same way when I picked up Death Stranding, it's no big deal.
Hardly. 560K for a AA game is pretty good for such a short period of time on the market. Not every game needs to sell Spiderman numbers to be considered a success. Housemarque isn't a massive studio and this game likely didn't cost much to develop.
I wouldn't say Demon's Souls sold under 1 million. Death Stranding sold 5 million copies and most of those were on PS4 and we heard the sales figures from KojiPro instead of Sony.
Sony purchasing Insomniac for a cool 222 million remains their smartest decision ever.
And then it went on to sell less than the 360.
The Xbox One was also it's fastest selling console as well, having outpaced the 360 by one million in the same time frame. I'm curious to see if the Series S/X can keep up the pace.
I hope this website goes away.
With absolutely no evidence either...:P But those insiders, tho...claiming millions of unpurchased copies of Death Stranding were piled up in a warehouse somewhere and that Sony was incredibly dissatisfied with the sales. By my estimation I would say that at least 3 million of those sales were on PS4.
the best what now?
Watching this trailer and I'm thinking that the rumored 15-20 hours of content may be real. It certainly looks like a beefy expansion. Can't wait to dive in.
I took a look at the PS4's holiday releases since it's launch and I gotta say, Sony - at least with the PS4 - didn't release huge tent-pole titles around the holiday. There are a few big-ish games like The Last Guardian and more recently with Death Stranding, but major flagship IPs just aren't dropped at the end of the year on Sony's end.
So this idea that Sony needs a big holiday game when they never really did in the years prior, is a little strange t...
