Now do China.
people forget that platinum releases turds on a pretty consistent basis. for ever nier, there is a mutants in manhattan. for every bayonetta, there is a star fox zero.
I don't get how continuing to make your game is 'defiant'.
Nintendo is the one that doesn't need it - especially 8 Deluxe continues to sell so well.
I would definitely give the full interview a listen. It's really refreshing listening to a developer that's trying to do something different with a genre so established like a metroidvania.
While a number of indies could turn to crowdfunding - it takes a lot to get there. I've spoken to hundreds of indie game developers and a lot of them give up a coushie job with a big AAA dev to go solo, invest their own life-savings into making their game, and sometimes are broke right up until release. It's inherently way more riskier than most imagine.
It frightens me that people like this have the privilege of playing games before the rest of us. The only lens I see, is the deranged one this writer is looking through - not Sloclap.
I knew from the moment I first saw this game that it was going to be Sony's next Horizon: a new IP that becomes mega-successful. Cannot wait to see what this team does next.
Kojima has stated he wanted to do small scale projects alongside big budget titles. I sense the MS title is something on the smaller side, hence why I said that I hope his next big project utilizes Decima.
Here's hoping Kojima's next big project utilizes the Decima Engine again.
You misspelled Returnal.
I wouldn't say peaked but it is most certainly not meeting projections.
yes it's the same one lol
loved loved loved Secret of Evermore. still remember the tv spot from when i was a kid - creeps me out till this day.
Deviation, Firewalk, and Haven are all working on multiplayer titles for Sony. They are already starting to invest. =)
Assertions like this need to be supported by actual sales numbers.
@DarXyde what do you expect Nintendo to do in a month? That 'loss' as you put it has nothing to do with Nintendo's practices or not releasing new games - it was likely a result of folks waiting for the OLED model to launch.
All three being healthy and selling well is a good thing for everyone.
People seem to forget this fact.
I've paid more for less. If I really want it, I'll save for it. The point is, this is just theatrics, nothing more nothing less. I have no problem with the action itself, just be consistent. Don't pick and choose which side of the moral spectrum you fall on when it's most convenient. It's shallow and hypocritical.
