It doesn't affect me personally, but I understand that a lot of PS4 gamers want this to happen. Sony is likely protecting itself and feels that their install base is large enough not to need it, but it will be interesting to see if this will become a factor for next-gen. At the very least, they could allow cross-play with Nintendo.
