PC gaming will never go away. As I have stated in the past, if every developer left PC today, someone would take their place.
I said this would happen years ago. EA is just the first, many more will follow.
The major gaming powers will have their own digital distribution software. It’s the only logical solution to competition. Why give money to the competition when you can keep it yourself.

41 here! Been playing since the 2600 and C-64, which doesn't mean shit. But love playing my games. But I do agree with the author that it is parents responsibility to know what their kids are playing. I bet my oldest son hates that I'm a gamer and he can't get on those cool games...............
If people have the ability to create their own dedicated servers, play LAN or through a service like Gamespy, then EA can stop the servers. However if the population has nothing, then EA are douches!
If those games mentioned have LAN or players can make a server then I see no problem. However if they can't then screw EA!
I disagree. It will depend on what the 720 specs are. MS might go into a different direction with the 720. Like I said in the past, the console is getting closer and closer to a PC anyway, they might make a standard PC with the 720 name on it. This way the minimum specs for devs is the 720, but the PC enthusiast like me can upgrade to our hearts content.
I disagree. It is because of Steam and competition is the reason our game prices are so low. And after the Steam summer sale and the D2D sale, it is only getting better!

I thought the game was good in beta. You could have your own NPC team mates and you could dress them how you liked. Worth checking out!

Ok guys I am a PC only gamer. So there is no trading in our games for the most part. However if I could, I wouldn't use Gamestop, I would Ebay them.
Why does everyone cry about Gamestop doing what they do?
I have a choice to sell game to whom ever. And I have a choice to buy my next game from whom ever.
I guess it depends on what is being offered. You can't group DLC in one group and put a label on it.
At the end of the day, you are correct. But what people are thinking is that Steam will give out those deals and EA will not. I have bought items from other digital sites that was cheaper at regular price than EA's discounted price.
