Syndicate wasnt Syndicate, that was a new IP of a old game. Had the game been a upgrade to the old game, it would have sold more!
Only for consoles. On the PC side everything is fine.

I put you 1 agree. I am a PC only guy, even though I own a PS3, a Xbox 360 and a Wii (family).
Anyway my point is that eventually there will come a day when graphics are peaked and cannot be improved. Then the gameplay and story will be the thing.
However right now the reality is that new consoles are needed because devs are going to want to support all platforms and if PC gets way ahead of the game (its about there), then console guys are SOL or PC guys are...

I do not agree. I will spend top dollar for a game series I love. But if it is a game that I can do without, I will wait on the sales. However if the game I bought on sale is top notch and a new favorite, i'll pay top dollar next time.

In my experience everything out there is better than GFWL. I really hate updating a game through that service..
The bad part if true is that the people that get laid off need the job. The ones still working get the extra duties with no extra pay. And the ones who laid off the employees get the money they saved the company.
Stopping a used game from being played is only going to hurt the manufacturer. I am a PC only guy and most PC gamers can afford to buy a ton of games because of competition.So what we spend in hardware is made up for in software.
Console gamers are not in the same category. One of the most said things by consolers is that PC hardware is too expensive.The next thing is that they can sell or trade in their used games to help pay for the next one.

This author is a crackpot. Let use simple logic, if these companies are losing massive amounts of money their financial reports would show it. And the only companies that are screaming are the ones to pissed away funds like THQ.

If you don't believe that then wait until you can't buy a used game and see if the price of new games goes down, I bet it doesn't.
I have yet to have a problem with Steam. But I had great success with Direct 2 Drive (not happy with Gamefly), Gamer's Gate, Impulse Driven and Greenman Gaming.........
