Of course it doesn't "need" it, but why not put it in every household and push the userbase before the displays become a potential standard. In a lot of ways, the PS3 worked the same angle with its future-forward approach. It was the first 3D Blu-Ray player to market through firmware updates. Is it a necessary feature? Certainly not, but every household that has a PS3 is now 3D ready should they make the leap into a 3D display sometime in the future.

I'd muc...

Wouldn't matter under the guise of an NDA. No matter where you are, you cannot speak on behalf of the company that employs you, whether its on their dime or not.

So they were fired for making stupid comments that insulted the companies primary demographic, or undersold a product offering?

Not seeing the issue here. They got what they deserved.

You didn't read the blue-screen did you? It was a Windows crash screen.

Lazy, no...but I'll be it's a better guess than anyone else here pissing and moaning about my input on the matter.

I am absolutely aware of what goes into assembling a TV. To suggest I don't makes you a bigger fool than your implication that I am.

The original comment was made in farce anyhow, but as with most users on N4G, you're obviously devoid of a sense of humor...which is the entire point of this story "WOW"!

Not a fan of math eh? It doesn't take a rocket science to take the known price of the 80", divide it and come to an average...

...you know what? No. You're a mook!

You know what "WOW's" me? The realization that in Sony's world, the going rate is $300/inch. By my mathematics that means the "entry level" consumer grade 55" 4K 3D Display is going to be a sweet chunk of change...$16.5k to be precise.

Also...talking about the cost of an inch deserves a chuckle, so thanks for that Sony!

I'm sorry, but if this game can get a negative review while games like Black Ops 2 (which really don't push the formula forward) score highly, then something is very wrong with journalistic integrity.

DMC is fantastic, I've played a nearly complete build and played numerous builds over the last year and a half at various shows. It's an amazing testament to Ninja Theory's talent and keen eye for design and style (going all the way back to their Xbox days wi...

Not likely...there are far too many announcement at E3 for Sony to risk getting lost in the shuffle, drowned out by rival announcements and big software. I'm betting on an earlier announce, much like the Vita!

GameStop has actually lowered the pricing structure of their preowned multiplayer heavy games that require online activation by around $10, which makes up the difference a gamer would have to pay for the average online pass.

It's still not ideal, but they have realized the community backlash and reacted accordingly.

Everything else you comment on I can get behind, but to be clear, this patent reads like nothing more than the digitization of the current pa...

Having read the patent, I see no difference other than the digitization, between this and the Online Pass.

4847d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

You didn't read the patent did you? The wording simply implies that features could be locked out. It's no different than the current Online Pass. The only difference is its embedded on the software, not an included paper voucher.

Seems to me the only consideration being given here in these discussions, in regards to this patent, is the worst-case scenario. Nevermind the fact that the wording found withing the patent sounds like nothing more than the embedded software RFID transformation of the previously paper-exclusive Online Pass.

Everything I read in there is exactly what the online pass was created for, so I really see no difference other than stepping away from more paper in the box. At the end o...

I highly doubt your games would be useless. Just like the PS3, I would imagine the SEN would allow you to deactivate old systems, and activate new ones...thus transferring licensing rights along with your SEN/PSN Account settings, download list, subscriptions (which include online passes), and more.

Personally, I don't see the issue here. I buy my games new, and those games I do buy pre-owned, I buy for single player purposes only (locking out multiplayer/online passes be...

I don't buy it. At the end of the day, Patents are just ideas, many of which never see the light of day, but protect a company, legally, from others stealing or publishing similar ideas. It's a legal dance, no doubt, but I simply cannot see this making the hardware at launch, if ever.

Bottom line, this economy needs the Pre-owned market. I'd be a fool to wager a guess as to what the percentage of gamers are that support this market, but I can guarantee it's a ...

I will end this by saying people also hate since the world "reboot" to a dedicated franchise like DMC or Castlevania is pretty much a bitch slap to the face and basically telling them, "The story you once loved and cherished is now swept under a rug never to see the light of day again, instead of continuing on with that story that you loved so much we'll give you a new story and never bring up the old story ever again."

Uhh...no, that's exactly NOT...

DmC really has brought out the worst in people and it shames me to call myself one of these "gamers" when some simply can't deal with change.

People are so hell-bent on calling foul on Ninja Theory's approach with the series when the reality is, we've only had 2 really great Devil May Cry games in its run, the first, and Devil May Cry 3. Furthermore, the biggest objections when this project was initially revealed were overly critical remarks on Dante...

Agreed. This article, specifically "TheSpoiler" and his poor attempt at humor, is steeped in ignorance.

If all the OUYA offered was a gateway to play smartphone games on a TV, I'd agree...but that isn't the focus at all. Almost all of the developers involved are creating unique creations designed specifically for the OUYA console that most certainly take advantage of a larger screen with only subtle design theory taken from the smartphone scene. Fact is, we&...

Simply because having two titles in a catalog (regardless of platform) with the same name "Devil May Cry" is misleading. DmC may mean the same thing, but DmC is an implied title that can serve as a reboot franchise, with successive titles being named DmC2, DmC3, etc.
