This time I agree with Pachter
Vita is my aunt's name. I don't want to call a portable console with that name.
I would prefer same old PSP2. Or at least Veta. Yep, Veta sound better than Vita.
yay! hope Europe will get PSP2 by the end of the year too
WOW, 3DS will overtake 7-year-old handheld, that's cool
No, really. I wonder what will happen if PSP2 would land by the end of the year in Japan. If PSP is still selling like crazy in Japan, so don't you think all those who has PSP will buy NGPs?
'Cause I had PSP myself and I want PSP2 so badly.
I like 3DS, but I expected more from it, not only 3D. I'm not fan of Nintendo's titles so other features (graphics, scree...
@prdn
You sound funny.
First of all, Nintendo didn't come up with AR idea. AR was invented many years ago. And it looks like you didn't know that Nintendo put augmented reality (and some other features) only few weeks before 3DS announcement at E3, when Sony was already working on it for awhile. And you can actually see the result.
Yeah, it would be cool and I think it's quite possible to happen.
Even if there won't be official access to Android Market I can bet someone will make an emulator to run Android apps. Just like PSP has JAVA homebrew app
Return? Handhelds weren't gone anywhere...
Please, THQ, make a new Juiced for PSP2 :)
Hopefully. $250 would be great, but hardly believable though.
I'll definitely get one if it's only $300. Just don't know the day one or a bit later
That's true, first of all device must be much more powerful to handle games from very different platform (such as PS2), secondly smartphones' operating systems requires A LOT resources so you need a good piece of hardware to run better games on Android or similar.
PS2 games on NGP is really possible I guess, but not on smartphones, even with dual-core processors.
So it must be REMAKES of PS2, not games. Definitely
Fun article, but I still think it will be PSP2.
At first NGP sounded strange and was unacceptable to me, but now it sounds not so bad when I got used to it.
However, Playstation is Sony's long-term brand and it probably won't be dropped. And its numbering too. I have no reason Sony should abandon it. And name PSP2 sounds fine to me, I think it's not long at all.
Sony should allow PS3 ports. First of all not everyone who is going to buy NGP has a PS3 (e.g. me) and also ported games could be cheaper because of almost costless development.
One word - NO.
If you still think that system which supports good graphics can't have good games then you are fool.
I like both handhelds (PSP2 and 3DS), but I'll probably get NGP because of I can't use 3D because my eyes are too weak for 3D and 3DS probably won't have much high-quality racing games, which are my favorite.
5G??? Are you joking? 4G is just started to be developed in US, there's no 4G connectivity in most part of the world and you are talking about 5G? It is at least 15 years away.
I guess 4G connectivity in PSP2 is possible with model upgrade maybe in 2015.
On topic: That's why there'll be two models of PSP2 so that you could be able to choose. Moreover, even if I buy SKU with 3G it's not necessary use it and pay for it. You can refuse it if you'r...
LOL that guy left his brains somewhere
I loved F1 2009 on PSP, I can't wait to try it on NGP
Same for me, I'll surpass 3DS because of 3D. I guess it damages eyesight much more than usual 2D displays so it's not for my eyes.
Probably I'll take PSP2 3G version.
I still don't like Vita :| I think they should better name it with one of those cool-sounding Japanese words rather than Italian/Latin "Vita". Even "Life" sounds better to me.
