Let's just say it was a step up from the past myriad bad E3 press conferences they've had.
The ball is now in Sony's court. Let's hope they deliver.
Why? That would be too kind of Microsoft now wouldn't it?
In the beginning I was a bit surprised to hear they are releasing some free games on Xbox...until I realized it's for only Gold members. Kinda kills the whole purpose of "free" games.
The ball is now in Sony's court. I'd have to admit that the press conference was better than I expected it to be. For $499 however, it's too expensive for me. I'll see what happens in the future.
Only thing that remains is to see what Sony will do. They already have several advantages, one of them being that they haven't even shown the console yet!
I agree. for $499, it's not cheap. It will require an internet connection. If Sony gets say at $399, it will be awesome.
It's very clear that he was addressing to the Call of Duty crowd, not the Battlefield crowd.
I was hoping for a sequel. I've played the original one. Only think that sucked about it was the length.
I bought a copy in December 2008 (I think), but I was disappointed to finish the game just the following day.
I hope the sequel is much longer and with that in mind, it's good to see that this could happen!
I believe that Microsoft was arrogant and confident enough to think that they can pull of this upcoming gen with ease. Truth is Sony caught them off guard.
The problem is history might repeat itself. Microsoft might feel the urge to rush to the market with lots of products half Xbaked (I had to).
It's just a marketing tactic, similar to how psychological pricing works. Give something a price tag of $49.99 instead of $50 and people will have an impression of saving up substantial amounts of money.
This is why EA started to call most of their standard edition games as "Limited Edition" (such as Dead Space 2). There's nothing really "limited" about it though, in terms of quantity.
This is due to partly a few reasons. To begin with, the PS4 hasn't been shown yet. I expect this stance to change once it is revealed today.
Another reason is... well, as gamers we are far fewer than the mass casuals out there. Problem is people don't want to listen, read and understand what buying the Xbox One means to their future entertainment.
Most people think it's just a sequel to Xbox 360, regardless of the ridiculous restrictions it impos...
The marketing team must be getting high again.
Looks like the joke's on him.
I totally agree.
I've been seeing exclusives coming to the PS4 one after another.
If they keep this up, I can guarantee you that Sony will be rewarded by gamers for their efforts to bring what matters to gamers: the games.
As for me, I feel the cycle is going to repeat - lots of must play exclusive games but with no cash to buy them!
It does seem kinda fun though. But associating colors might be a neater way to differentiate characters.
As they were playing the game, I spotted a PS3 below the TV and something else sitting right next to the TV (at the 1:00 mark). Any ideas that that thing is? Is that the devkit?
With the recent low to medium scores it has been receiving, I'd say that won't take long.
I'm also disappointed at the turnout of the game.
Good news on a slow news day :)
It's good to hear, but I still think they screwed up by bringing out the TV stuff first instead of games. To normal gamers Microsoft has simply given the gaming section (on a game console) less focus, or very little importance. Had they reversed their stances, things would be different and they wouldn't be getting this negative feedback. Also this act of beating around the bush on the used games stance isn't helping either. It's just widening the rift between Ms and the gamers...
Here's what Major Nelson stated regarding the whole trade in of games:
"The ability to trade in and resell games is important to gamers and to Xbox. Xbox One is designed to support the trade in and resale of games. Reports about our policies for trade in and resale are inaccurate and incomplete. We will disclose more information in the near future."
Few things give me a feeling that there will be some sort of used game blocking/control policy. P...
To begin with, both systems (the mobile and PC/console) are NOT in the same category, however you put it. Just as KillrateOmega stated, one is a mobile device and the other is a console - designed for this simple purpose of gaming.
Microsoft didn't see this sh*t coming? They were arrogant enough to "lead" next gen into a new "era" by trying to change things that customers and gamers take for granted. What did they expect gamers to do in return? Roll over??
I think they made a wrong estimation to consider gamers as a niche small crowd out there compared to the mass casuals. They were wrong to consider that gamers wouldn't make a dent in their armor, and now the sh*t has hit t...
