like everyone here said, its very Possible for the PS3 to do Source Mods. just like UT3.
Valve if they wanted to right now can update their Source Engine SDK and allow PS3 mods by allowing the user to "cook" the mod to play on PS3 just like how UE3 allowed people to "cook" their mod to Play on PS3 with UT3.
