The prices are horrible and the specs of the steam machines are cryptic, which is were Valve should fix immediately if it wants the steam machines to succeed forget the useless anticonsumer console concept.
The Steam Machines are the android of gaming. Valve is an open corporation that allows gamers to manage the Steam Gaming Service. From letting gamers curate the store, be the gatekeepers of Steam through early access, be the publishers (needs major re-working) for indie developers through early access. The console concept is a dying concept that only benefits a corporation not the gamer. With that in mind, Valve is endorsing several gaming OEM PCs, to make OEM manufacturers relevant again in...
Surprised, this war of mine was not included
In VR movement is critical to immerse the player into the game world. So, strongly believe kinect may finally become useful once VR takes off.
I want to say you're wrong, but the reality is you're correct.
The Long Dark is an exclusive PC game. Lifeless Planet should of been released on Xbox one. Don't know what's the hold up....
Me love The Walking Dead, so much so I am playing right now.
I don't understand, when has mainstream game developers have supported the PC. If any gamer were to look at all the PC games from 1990 to today then the gamer will see that indie game developers have been at the forefront of PC gaming.
damn should of voted
The PC gamers were not allowed to vote, I am surprised Among the Sleep, The Banner Saga , or Broken Age did not make it.
That's sad, since is one of the best video game franchises in history plus the gameplay mechanics, game design, art direction, and visuals change in every game. On top of that, the story moves forward and the soundtrack is the best out of any videogame franchise. Is rare to see a videogame franchise with a deep realistic story that changes a lot over time. Unlike God Of war, Call of Duty, mario, zelda, halo, etc.
It wasn't a bad year if you were a PC gamer from broken age, the banner saga, the amazing Among the sleep, fatal frame successor Dread Out, Endless Legend, Divinity Original Sin, The Legend of Grimrock 2, Enola, Endless Legend, Wasteland 2, etc. oh and Consortium.
I did finish the second season of the walking dead and the wolf among us.
Guess console gamers had a rough year lol.
Heavy Rain is one of the few games I played and got three different endings. The story is a little disjointed yes, but it revolutionized the gameplay mechanics of point and click adventure games. The walking dead phenomenal story, your decisions do make subtle changes to the game. Dear Esther still the only game that has no gameplay,is just an interactive poem.
Games have been linear since the dawn of gaming. I do want to point out, that it was during the PS One era where console games (I don't know about PC gaming history) had a story to tell in every genre not just JRPG like the previous generations. So I don't get the innovation of the order 1886. But I can't tell if the order is worth playing or not for I have not played it.
I agree with uncharted, fair enough. The qte in the walking dead felt natural and made sense. Is that the Walking Dead is a point and click adventure. Well it's an improvement over the traditional point and click adventure games in the fact the gamer can actually move the character, two is not about looking for hot spots anymore, three it allows the gamer to loosely interact with the environment. It has a really good story.
The problem lies, with games lack of exploration, lack of mini-games, no map editors, no free unlockables, etc. Today's games have a very barebones single player games and an online game that lasts three to six months. So, games don't need to be complex or over complicated. They just need to have more content and allow gamers to explore the game environment, finis. missions or quests in a wide variety of ways; bring back the hanging bar..... Today's games are so dumb down that ...
What a sad stereotypical view of a gamer
Very nice blog, why no mention of The Walking Dead or To the Moon. Both of these games represent the best blend of story with gameplay mechanics. Were the mechanics become part of the story.
This is beyond hilarious and whacked
Me , I was sick of Windows and computers; therefore, I bought the PS3 to replace my PC due to its ability to use Linux . When Sony removed that feature (ha ha ha ha I am an idiot I know)went back and bought an OEM and turned it into my current gaming PC. Thanks to Sony I discovered the wonders of PC gaming (ok I kid, it was those patches/updates, loss of $200.00 on tv shows and movies that I bought from PSN store can't watch them for I replaced the PS3 due to a faulty hard drive and the ...
