As a veteran console gamer, free unlockables, map editors, mini games, etc. have gone the way of the dinosaurs for consoles. If you were to play tekken 3, it was possible to unlock fighting characters for free, videogame modes, like the volleyball game, brawler game mode for free. Yes N64 games were expensive ;however PS One, PS2, Sega Dreamcast and even Xbox games were not. For $50.00 or less games were packed with gaming content like map editors, mini games, alternative endings (star ocean se...
Games have become expensive due to changing the game engine for every single generation instead of squeezing or using the current engine to its fullest. Some games use A star movie actors for full virtual rendition and voice or just voice. Sorry but A list actors cost more than an upcoming movie actor (va are used in gaming and actors participate in gaming through rendering their virtual self). Heavy marketing and hype wasting money and time on tech demos/trailers for almost every single gami...
I believe that specific video game genres are pretty much dead. Alot of genres have become one game like Assassins Creed combining stealth with platforming, and action. But the whole DLC, microtransanctions, short online gaming (3-6 months tops except PC) it just reeks. The new and innovative games are exclusive to PC like This War of Mine, Consortium, The Banner Saga, etc. ......
Well is a ,nice list and I learn more about the mk u.universe
Right now is easy fatalities, and let's say that becomes successful. Once the developer sees is a hit, they might decide to add easy brutalities, easy combos, etc. The does not affect me attitude has really ruined gaming. Remember how paying for Xbox live did not affect the PlayStation gamer oh wait it did for the PlayStation gamer pays to play online. Remember horse armor dlc doesnt affect me oh wait DLC is a standard now. You see my point
Damn, free to play has gone mainstream. So, basically free unlockables became dlc, cheat codes became microtransanctions. Ugh, let's fight back and bring free unlockables from the dead
That's how they get you with harmless transactions like this,if this becomes successful then the developers will gladly add more microtransanctions to $60.00 games. Combining the free to play model with the mainstream model. Is like Sony all over again with PS Plus optional does not affect me and boom PS Plus is mandatory. Like the horse armor it doesn't affect me, then dlc becomes standard. Let's drop the it doesn't affect me attitude (it hasn't helped at all) and let ...
I don't know why microtransanctions are in $60.00 games. Man if Mortal Kombat X was free to play that would of being ok. For now is easy fatalities, what if easy combos become available.
I wish mainstream gaming was not corporate.
Other than greed, how do gamers benefit from microtransanctions in $60.00 plus tax games
I agree the game is already $60.00. In contrast free to play games the game is free...
As far as corridor shooters, linear games, etc. I agree, but the witcher 3 says no, so does MGS 5, and No Man's Sky. Personally, all three current consoles are not only underpowered, but they lack that next-generation game that screams the next generation of gaming has arrived. Then on PC games like This War of Mine, Hunter Primal, the long dark are games that are unlike anything played before
What do you think of a hybrid. Imagine the Wii U gamepad that works as a console/ handheld. A tablet like system capable of gaming and multimedia, with Legend of Zelda U playing at home or McDonald's. Better yet login in an online match of Metroid while being in the park and able to play. Get home and continue where you left off. Neat no
That could be possible
Is an improved wii u gamepad capable of playing say Nintendo games both at home and on the go like Starbucks. The console business model is dead, a new console cannot come out without becoming a PC. I mean, will console gamers be willing to change console parts or pay more than $500.00 and the answer is a hell no. With that in mind, if Nintendo had not forced the gamepad attached to an outdated console. I 100% guarantee you the wii u would of being a success. Why ,well third party game devel...
There are games that can only work on PC. This is one of them, I really don't see this game ever releasing on PS4. The PC version is already way ahead as far as updates, visuals, gameplay fixes is concerned
I just wish free unlockables have not gone the way of the dinosaurs. I hope console gamers don't just complain about bu actually do something about it.
Ummm what's with the $60.00 price tag for remasters. Yes improved visuals and throphies/achievements are nice. But it doesn't make sense that say remasters are cheaper on PC. You can buy any old PC game for a dollar to five dollars but console gamers must pay $60.00. Why, because of their corporate loyalty that's why. .... Deux Ex human revolution remastered on PC was for $5.00. Metro Redux was for$25.00,then on Steam Christmas sale for $10.00. Strange no
The technology in the PS3 like the cell processor is cheaper than when the PS3 came out. Remember, Sony was capable of releasing the PS2 with backwards compatibility. Here's the thing, the PS2 had a different disc format DVD instead of the CD format and different architecture from PS One. So, if it was possible then, why not now. Most of the PS3 multuplat games were made in X86 architecture for these games were sold on Steam. The issue lies with the PS3 exclusives but even then, the P...
It was pretty decent video game journalism back in the day. Mostly based on game reviews, previews, but no clickbait articles or such back then. Sadly www.thepareport.com died and is a shame due to this gaming website had the balls to write an article on the online pass and in the article mentioned the first sale doctrine a law that grants the consumer the legal right to buy used physical products, trade,or sell. Explained in a professional matter how videogame sales work. Agggghhh!!! The tru...
