Is a two hour game with no replay value what do you expect
What do these 2 hour game developers expect. I mean making a two hour mobile game that's fine but for PC come on.
Have low prices. Why are PC games cheap hmmm. Is it because of piracy no, is it because there's no middleman like a retailer no. Well I am aware that games are drawn first on many storyboards like animation. After picking the best drawn designs,the process begins with graphic design (turning the drawings into 3D computirized designs). Then animation is implemented (body movement, steps,finger movement ). Yeah, I'm still pissed how gamers told gamers like myself to go kick rocks for demanding backwards compatibility (its purpose was to tide gamers over by playing their BOUGHT AND PAID FOR library. Included with the backwards compatibility was improved textures, shorter loading times, better rresolution/ framerate FREE OF CHARGE for both PS2 and PS3) . Which served the same purpose and offer the same features minus the useless trophy/gamerscore.

Like I said many times my only issue with remastered games are the prices and the rare occasion that content is removed like the online play of uncharted collection, the naughty bits plus the original voice actors of silent hill collection. On PC every single old ass game cost $5-10. Hell, the reboot of tomb raider and thief went as low as $5.00. So, that's my thoughts on this. If backwards compatibility still were on consoles, remastered edition games would of not existed.
The problem with reviews is that if the game franchise is famous or popular it gets a great score. If the dev butter up, bought, the reviewer the game gets a great score. So no today's reviews are pretty crappy compared to the decent or average reviews of the past.
Looking at the current consoles and the mentality of console gamers (not fanboys) , they most likely get a steam machine over a PS4 ot Xbox 1.
Picture this:
Steam Machine $400 plus tax wth free online gaming, mod support, the witcher 3 for half price, backwards compatibility, etc.
VS
Console $400.00 pay to play online, witcher 3 for $60.00, remastered edition of say games priced at new game prices,no mods, no map editors,...
Free online gaming, mods and cheap games will entice some console gamers
Steam Machines are upgradeable
Steam machines have three major advantages over consoles:
Mods
Backwards compatibility
Freeeeeeeee online gaming
If Valve can only make the steam machine affordable and able to play at least 90% of steam games then look out consoles.
Two caveats I forgot to mention major game discounts and able to decide which games should come to steam plus refunds yay refunds. Oh free online gaming is good to.
What if Microsoft and Sony decide to ditch consoles in favor of a cloud gaming service in conjunction with a digital service
Ummm under the first sale doctrine law, the consumer has the legal right to buy used games.
That's the beauty of mobile devices, that game developers don't need to simplify the game unless they want to. Example Albion Online is turning into a deep complex game and then there is HeartStone, is as complex as the PC version. A game developer must simplify the game if it comes to console.

Is a good blog,but the problem with the consoles today are that they are too similar in terms of mulitmedia apps (amazon video, netflix, etc.), specs, etc. On top of that too much focus on remastered games. As a PS 3 owner I still don't see the need to buy a PS4, I can play the last of us and destiny on my PS3. The visual difference between the two is pretty minor. PC gaming is where is at because I don't want to pay to play online, I don't want to spend $60.00 for an old ass game...
Ha ha ha when PC gaming is getting better, able to play online for free, pay less for games, etc. You see consoles becoming less accessible, no map editors, no free unlockables, etc. Then you will understand why console gaming is worse
PC gaming got better and console gaming got worse. Basically back then we had map editors, cheat codes for flying cars in GTA San Andreas. Hidden levels,alternate paths, and free unlockables (able to unlock a fighting character by completing the arcade mode or story mode). Game Developers ensure the games had as little as possible as far technical defficiences were concerned. Now I agree with the author in regards to social activities.
I am going to play kholat and monstroum. Day Z on PS4 I doubt it, but Soma very likely. Day Z just can't be done on consoles plus the game developer will have to change the game drastically like add a single player campaign, an end game like the console version of minecraft (missions, bosses, an end boss).
