Everyone uses the most popular polarizing item they can find to capitalize own their own greedy ambitions.
First guy in my mind is Al Gore and using Global Climate Change as a way for him to fund the lifestyle he has become so accomodated to.
We all know better about GTA4 and until the next polarizing genre that comes on, Video Games is going to take its welts like comic books, television, and movies have.

Competition is what compelled Square to create and generate such wonderful games.
Now all they do is sit on their golden throne and spit out the latest rehashing of Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy.
SquareEnix get your act together and give me some quality RPGs from your PS1 days. (Final Fantasy 7, 8, & Tactics; Xenogears; Parasite Eve; Vangart Story, etc etc). *sigh*

And the PS2 numbers aren't inflated from people purchasing 2nd and 3rd consoles?
I can attest to the fact I have owned 3 PS2s. 1st was a launch one for the family. 2nd was one for college. 3rd was a replacement after college due to the fact that I used my 2nd one for, basically, a daily DVD player (curse you Netflix).
I also know my brother has purchased a 2nd PS2.
You can't tell me that each generation doesn't have some inflation of console sale...

I'm betting everything in my pocket that it is Sonic Unleashed.

I'm sorry but you can't argue install base at the time of sales and still use the lifetime sales data.
Unfortunately, there is no good website to exam historical sales data available to the free intertubes (I don't trust VGC. Sorry, they are predictors and not recorders.)
So, since we are looking at historical data all we can exam is the lifetime sales of the game itself versus the lifetime install base.
Also, those arguing that MGS was a PS2 game seem...

Well before Mass Effect 1 was released it was speculated if Microsoft would pick up the publishing rights to the third game.
If, well I'm sorry you couldn't since you're a Playstation 3 fanboi, booted up Mass Effect you may have noticed that the beginning credits has Microsoft as the publishing company. Hm, unless EA cuts them a big check to relinquish those rights I doubt you will be see ME or ME2 on PS3.

Mass Effect and Bioshock are still, until official notice, exclusives to the 360. All that runs around the intertubes about those two games is speculation and rumor.
Last I checked you can't picked up those games and play them on your PS3.
Also, as a little of a tangent, it seems people have forgotten that Microsoft has the publishing rights to Mass Effect 1 and 2. So neither of those are probably making it to your PS3 either.
