LOL is that what they use as damage control? This move will devalue the Xbox brand and give people less reason to contribute their money towards keeping the brand around.

It's a waste of money to me to build/buy a high powered PC. I won't even use all of that power. Always preferred consoles.

PS4 will dominate this entire generation until it is over and Xbone has enough 3rd parties to hang in there. I'm not sure what Nintendo will do to grab some of that Xbone/PS4 audience. A lot of us are comfortable within our investments and don't see much reason to get a Nintnedo console based on how fast the Wii U lost support. I myself will only be buying a PS4. It's the best investment for me until next gen.

To me fighting games are okay with having a weak single player. They were meanT to be played head to head with other people for the most part. If it includes a strong single player cool like Soul Calibur games. Nothing wrong with that at all. I'm getting SFV later because it's too barebones right now plus I can just play other games in the meantime.
When I get SFV on my PS4 I'm filtering out PC users on the online mode. I want to avoid bots and hackers.
Because I don't care much about the genre outside of Street Fighter and Marvel. I play action/adventure games more.
the 3rd party issue is far more deeper than simply being fixed by engines. It goes way deeper. It goes to the philosophy behind a Nintendo home console.
I will always prefer single player over multiplayer. It's just what I usually go for when I pick up a new game. I won't buy a game if it doesn't have a strong single player mode not just something tacked on unless it's an online focused game that I've really wanted to play.

It's devaluing the Xbox brand. Imagine if Uncharted, God of war, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Twisted Metal, Gravity Rush,etc were all on PC as well? It would give many people less reasons to buy a PS4. It's effectively chipping away at the long term strength of a console brand.
SFV is the only fighter I'm buying this gen and while I'm glad they will support it for years to come, they took too much stuff out. It's not worth $60. I was going to get it day one too. I know in the long run It's still gonna be worth buying.

The gamecube had no ethernet port for online gaming and probably only had like 2 games with online
The gamecube had a small storage space for games compared to the PS2 and Xbox
The gamecube also missed out on GTA, the single most important game series between 2001-2005.
Don't you dare compare the PS4 to the wii. The PS4's game library will go on and on and thrive with rich and varied amounts of games that includes great multiplats and great exclusives. The wii will be remembered as the shovelware machine that had good games very rarely.
