The point was from day one they were trying to convince the Xbox ones power would be increased to the equivalent of 4 Xbox ones in order for consumers to think they would have more power for their purchase... 3 years in and not only has it not been proven, they are releasing a new console to provide more power. That is the solid proof that they lied about the cloud and 4x the power per the Xbox one.

Microsoft is pulling a corporation chess play by releasing a new gen console this fast. They do not have the software that will push it. They are just forcing Sony to move faster to cut into their profits of the ps4 and try to stop their domination of the gaming console.
Sony gets the upper hand due to fall of next year, they get to announce their new console that will be more powerful and show the library that will be upgraded and to come out rig...
