If you don't like something and haven't the intelligence or perseverance to try to get to know your subject then you're not going to review it objectively if asked. That's clearly the case here, so don't be influenced by this foolish drivel.

This game has already received very encouraging reviews and once the glitches are patched it will be a very good substitute for Oblivion. (a few are saying AS good if not better).

how can you compare a linear casual RPG-lite interactive fantasy adventure book with The Witcher, an expansive, deep, smart non linear adult RPG ? IT's like comparing chalk and cheese, they're so dissimilar.

I know everything I need to know: It's linear, it's dumbed down, it's not an RPG. I won't be getting it.
I'll be getting Elder SCrolls V.

hello ? - what part of: "Mass effect 2 & 3 are brilliant games but they're not RPG's" do you not understand ?!

If you need to categorize them, then 'Adult Sci-Fi Action Adventure' fits best.

apparently 1 cut scene depicts goblins being spanked by orcs while a sniggering horse watches from a bush.

Fantastic.

poor grammar, spelling and sentence construction in a totally uninteresting meaningless opinion about pretty much f**k all.

The author clearly doesn't have any sort of game education and it's obvious he doesn't really know what he's waffling on about.

yes, it's a contradictory article I'm afraid - and the idea as a whole doesn't make any sense.

All consoles, hand helds, media devices, PC's etc have their own very successful niche in the market place and it's the enormous sales of current consoles since launch that is holding back the need for the next generation console.

The vast majority of gamers have a console and/or PC for home entertainment plus a handheld for when on the move - it...

this should be a corker !

wow ! that's a full on review alright - Glad to hear it's great !

yeah right.

So Balders Gate, WOW, Elder Scrolls, Fallout are all impenetrable are they ? Their MASSIVE sales & popularity say otherwise.

These classics are only impenetrable to kids and adults with the attention span of a slippery Otter.

Bioware are dumbing down the RPG genre to appeal to 'everyone' when they'd be more successful producing a lite version for the kids/short attention span market and a proper version to rival Fa...

The concept behind Dragons Age 2 ? ...that's very easy:

Take an RPG.
Make it linear.
Simplify the mechanics.
Hope to attract the younger/casual gamer crowd.

Nothing wrong with the concept, it's still a fine game for it's market, just deeply disappointing for the serious gamers that Bioware used to cater for and on a business level it doesn't quite make sense that they've gone down this road - they'll never get ...

comments from this self obsessed piss-taking cretin are as interesting as a sackfull of Brussel sprouts after Christmas.

can you tell us why ?

Many issues have been patched - not everyone has experienced terrible problems.
Take a look at Eurogamer, IGN & Videogamer for balanced and well written reviews.

The article is incredibly stupid. So if we apply this logic elsewhere we'd have our sport, movies, books, music etc.. drastically cut back - to suit who ? ....retards ?

Dumbed down RPG-lite casual games Dragons Age and Fable can never compete with the level of success enjoyed by developers of classic action RPG's like Fallout: New Vegas so it makes no business sense whatsoever that Bioware & Lionhead do not deliver content on a par with Fallout's gameplay, stature and maturity when they're more than capable of doing so.

It's a bit like Steven Spielberg suddenly deciding to give up making epic feature films to concentrate...

of course it's a new age but it's going backwards. Creatively it's like the Rolling Stones suddenly deciding to go Andy Williams.
