tell that to MS, EA, UBI and a number of other companies. Sony has already released 1 new core IP this year & has another in a few months.
When was the last new core IP MS, EA or UBI released?
nope but luckily 1 company lets you upgrade your HDD with the biggest you can find.
The only company proven to not give continued support for their systems is MS.
not for F2P games you don't, you should double check you mistook the PS4 for the XB1 where they charge for free things and I will guess you are one of the people that don't mind paying for FREE things.

Coleco Telstar, Telstar Ranger & Magnovox Odyssey predate those consoles. While there may not have been console wars they were still console generations & competition.
Atari 2600 - late 1977 or early 1978
The Coleco Telstar - 1976-1978 ( my first console when I was 7 or 8 )
The Coleco Telstar Ranger - 1977 - 1978 ( my 2nd console which was knocked off the market by the 2600 )
Magnovox Odyssey - 1972 ( didn't get...
there is also plenty of F2P games that will be on the PS4 at launch and you don't even need a PS+ account to play them.
good luck with that most people who played the first probably don't even own a Wii U.
I tried the first Bayonetta and didn't really like it, one day I will give it another try and see if that changes.
Sometimes I need to go back and start a game 2 or 3 times before I finally get into it.
If I were Sony I would go mid October for a few reasons
1 - Release ahead of XB1
2 - Get the preordered systems out & in the hands of gamers before the holiday shopping season starts
3 - By getting the preorders filled in early/mid October they will have time to get more stock in for the Black Friday holiday, then when MS releases in that window with limited units filling the preorders there will be PS4 a plenty on the shelf for the holid...
I don't feel sorry for them because they chose to support MS who could careless about the gamer since around 2008-2009 when their focus shifted to Kinect & casuals.
she's the hooker from Craigslist right?
they can keep that over priced garbage
she is a perfect candidate to head a cablebox addon which is what the XB1 is. And much like the 360 I only see early support from MS games wise to get the numbers up and then they will switch to their TV/Kinect focus while relying on only 3rd party multiplats & timed DLC for Call of Doo Doo.
Who would the target soccer mom audience want to listen to and relate with? Exactly who they chose Mrs. Larson-Green not Don Matrick, Major Nelson or that other pompous clown Spencer....
I am going to try it for myself because most reviewers don't even like JRPG's to begin with and would rather being playing FPS instead. Even if I don't like it I still like to support them when they localize a JRPG's for the west.
it's not that they will sit there all day watching you but if they ever decide to look into you MS will have a nice big data file on you readily available for them.
not me because the XB1 is not allowed in my house.
I'm personally more interested in the new IP's this upcoming gen will bring.
While I will still enjoy the carry over franchises such as UC, KZ, GOW etc etc I always look forward to the new IP's more and Sony has always delivered those since they entered the gaming business.
I'll try to find a link but after Jack said that the dev came out said it wasn't on hiatus.
edit:

"That hiatus term—I’m not a native English-speaking person—but that’s misleading," Yoshida told me a few minutes ago during an interview here at E3. He'd watched Tretton's comment...
while I really enjoyed DC and would love another in the series but to call Ni No Kuni a sucky game compared to it I do not agree with.
NNK is the best JRPG this gen imho just because it had the old school feel to it and didn't feel like they tried to westernize it like most JRPGS this gen. While I agree with your want for more DC I will not bash arguably the best JRPG of the gen.
I'm going PS4 and won't be getting a XB1 at all at any point in time. I have decided not to support MS in the gaming industry anymore.
I only care about & speak for myself and couldn't careless which console or company others choose to support.
forgot about Puppeteer but Ni No Kuni was a upgraded port from a Nintendo game I thought so it's not really a new IP. But NNK was a amazing game if you like JRPG's which I do.
