Yes, I know they are both a similar type of overhead action RPG, but the fact remains that they are comparing a possible success or dud to a game series that has sold more than 17 million copies.
The only place that really seems safe to buy EA games is on the PC, where EA functions as just the publisher and doesn't own the actual dev studios or the IP's.
The Wii succeeded as a casual console, but are third party casual games really succeeding?
You can still buy the Diablo and Starcraft Warchests in some stores, and they are sometimes prominently displayed with new releases. How long have they been out, 10+ years? Once Too Human attains that level of longevity, then they can call it the next Diablo.
I'm not against selling your characters or accounts, but I'm definitely against purchasing in-game currency. All that happens is in-game items become outrageously priced so you can't afford them unless you too are buying in-game currency.
Hellgate was addictive while you played it, but as soon as you move on to another game you'll probably never pick it up again.
This looks like it's going to be fun. My only problem is how "rubbery" a lot of the materials seem.
Paying MMO's for server and data maintainence is one thing, but paying MS for voice chat and for no dedicated servers is crazy. They should look at Valve for their business model. Valve sees it as they should be giving back to the community, MS sees it only as a profit scheme.
GoldenEye 64 wasn't great because of it's movie license. It was great because it revolutionized the console FPS genre, and maybe all FPS's. That being said, I have no expectations for this game beyond that it will look like a supped up version of the original, with better levels, AI, and graphics. So they are basically re-building an old game by our modern gaming standards. I don't expect it to be ground breaking or original though. If they were trying to be unique and original they wouldn't ...
If I get the full $600 I'll buy another 8800GT for my Desktop and a portable hard-drive for my laptop.
This is being marketed as a high-spec casual MMO like second life.
I had to re-read the title a couple of times. I thought it meant men like games more than they like women, but really it means men like games more then women do.
Hopefully this time they will release the game before the hype withers on the vine.
This will only be cool if you can "simulate" a Martian uprising against the evil earthing government. :D
I think it's a fake. It even says at the bottom of the picture that it was designed specifically for the DialPhone website. All it is, is a shopped picture of an AlienWare desktop PC.
We really need to stop "glorifying" these killers by giving them all this news coverage. It's what they do it for, and we are giving to them. Their names should be stricken from all public records. We should make it as though they never existed.
The developers get just as much at retail as any other game. Then the monthly subscription pays for maintaining the data and the servers. They only operate as many servers as they need and don't bring on new ones until the need them.
America is split into groups. You've got neo-con republicans who have a massive superiority complex, liberal democrats with their guilt complexes, and moderates and constitutionalists are just depressed. I'm not naive about the UK, I wouldn't want to live there. Their Police State seems to be advancing much faster than it is here in the US. It seems like only revolution ever gives people back liberty. The rest of the time liberty just erodes away.
There doesn't have to be anything wrong. In fact it's better for them to legislate when there is nothing wrong, so afterwards they can point it out and say their legislation fixed it. This is nothing more than politicians trying to appear motivated and un-apathetic. They pick easy targets, because they have no idea how to fix real problems.
Yeah, they'll be different....this time they'll be called missions :P
I don't really have a problem with quest leveling, as long as it's not grinding.
