Sure. They owe it to sony.
But by that logic, they owe it to Nintendi too, as the "solid" series wouldn't have existed if not for the original MG for nes.
Soooo.... perhaps MGS should never have been on ps1? After all, they owed it to Nintendo, right?
Hey, what did you think of Sony's french Vita add?(since I know you are a big sony fan, though this isn't limited to just you)
You know, the one with the women with 2 sets of breasts, each one representing a Vita touch panel and this DIRECTLY comparing/equating a women to an ACTUAL object?
Meanwhile, Ubi releases an add playing off an ages old joke no one here hasn't heard before... hmmmmm.....
Tenchi Muyo was JUMP?
Huh...
It only takes one game sold for wiiu losses to become gains.
As long as they make enough to pass their expenses, then it will have been a good year.
@sp1d
I would guess either: paid adds for mods or upvoted for funny by peoples for shits and giggles.
But that's just it; he advised people to buy into Zynga, saying the market involved was not a bubble. A market grown instantaneously from flighty unreliable consumer behaivior that suddenly grew faster than it could support. And now the bubble has burst.
Meanwhilr, he cites the wii as a bubble, despite its incredible success based around an industry standard of 6 years. It has sold more than 360 and ps3, but because its sales declined at the end of its life it was a bubbl...
So, in pachs eye zynga went from 1 best bet for investors ib the industry to 2 crushing under its own weight from being to awesome and finally 3 a train wreck. In less than 12 months.
I thought zynga was heading towards train wreck back when pachter was at phase 1.
@Cgoodno
I've heard all of them. The Xenoblade/other M one I think was just an example to represent a specific mindset devoted to games with widely split opinion. The shooting game one was as well.
Unless the omni rumor is real, and will be such a slight upgrade from the ps3 that r&d costs didn't need to rise. (@themailman that is an old story... things may have changed since then. It also does not refute the claim of marked increase in spending made by this guy... which makes me think my theory now has a little weight to it...O.o)
On the subject of Sony r&d spending, did it ever go down from the Vita R&d period?
Or they follow ps2 era protocol; port up from the "weakest"(ps2)
In the next gen, that will most likely be wiiu by at least a small amount... plus, the wiiu will have been out longer, meaning devs would have more experience working on it and it will also be cheaper.
If it is anything like the ps2 era, wiiu will have the mostvsoftware support of the 3 and be the cheapest.
" He could have presented the same facts, named the games that were awarded, and compared it to prior years numbers to show that games have been in a decline (thus showing a systematic decline in the industry overall), which would have leant itself to some possibly productive conversation instead of fanboy bickering."
This is true, Plus it would have been a lot more interesting. ^,^
Siliconera and Gamasutra sometimes like to talk about these kinds of sales s...
Lol... they added only one critical, unnecessary point to this completely true story; that smartphones have caused this effect(A ridiculous notion on its own, as Nintendo has not been affected). Otherwise, this is hardly trolling... unless you consider Sony to be the troll, as this is all coming from THEM.(so long as Kotaku is reporting this correctly... I would never put anything totally past them personally.)
Kotaku didn't NEED to post this story... but why not? It is g...
Except they didn't make it; nihilistic did. Because Activision never had any real faith in the Vita and opted development to someone else(or sold the rights to Sony, who handed the project to Nihilistic)
It was crap because they don't believe in the system enough to actually support it. This could also be why there was no 3ds CoD this year despite yearly ds installments up to this point.
(I disagree with his assessments personally, though I do believe...
The psp had the updated versions... but they competed with no one for them. That won't be the case with the 3ds and now WiiU.
And what I'm saying won't happen is Monster Hunter pushing the Vita in an appreciable way. It will be too late in its life cycle to easily have an overwhelming effect. MonHun non exclusive will not "Save" the Vita, so people need to stop thinking it will.
And while I won't sit here and say I think Capcom will absolutel...
Well, they did say it was going to cover already announced games in more detail. New games or games coming later should never have been anticipated.
Though, it was still less than satisfactory there as well...-,-;
People need to stop counting on this. The 4th game is 3ds exclusive for at least the foreseable future and it is not even out yet. The WiiU, which isn't even out in Japan yet(Or JUST came out) got a MonHun already, yet not even a murmur of such has suggested that the Vita will get the same.
And if one is ever announced, it won't be at least until summer/fall of next year. And then a year-year and a half from then until it even comes out.
It Is Not Happening. E...
Fewer and fewer games make use of a second stick on 3ds. I really, REALLY doubt a second stick revision will ever happen or be needed.
The 3ds price drop didn't stop its doom articles, soooo..... yeah....
Nintendo certainly did NOT recieve a "pass". This is one of the only things wiiu related people seem to want to talk about.
Sony never dominated Japan. They have been playing second fiddle to nintendo.
The 3ds is about to pass ps3 LIFETIME sales in the region. Nintendo has ALL the major franchises locked up. And a full year(at least) head start to build even better relations with 3rd parties, which already out-do sonys support structure.
Where have you been?
Nintendo is THE most relevent of the big 3.
