Sakura Samurai and Dillon's rolling western released mere months ago. Nintendo have made plenty of new games and IP's. If you had been paying attention you would have noticed them.
The chances of someone owning a vita without a ps3/360 are slim to none. So why buy a Vita if most of its games are already on a console you already own?
There are literally a handful of Vita only exclusives. The rest are MP titles or ports. It needs original games to continue onward, yet all that keeps getting announced are more and more ports.
I thought they were making the next Spider Man game for the Vita.(though I could be wrong...)
If by "this", you mean "next gen", then yes. Maybe.
If by "this" you mean "360, ps3, wii", then you are going to be disappointed with the ps4/"720" and there "this gen" specs....

You are absolutely wrong about 1 thing, though... MS "milks" 3 franchises(Gears, Halo, Fable). Four, if you count Kinect.

My guess? For the longest time, the xbox had more games and was a lot cheaper. It was also the first "next Gen" console, and gave everyone a true look at this gen before the competition.
Those distinctions may have pretty much faded away, but they were a lot stonger at the start of this gen.

The mass media just sees xbox as more mainstream than the PS, so it is just good middle groun...

Since NSMB, there have been 5 mario games. Depending on how you divide them, there are 3 categories(New, Galaxy, and 3dL), with 2, 2 and 1 game(s) each respectively.
Conversely, there have been this Gen, in the same Timeframe(more or less) 3 gears of war games, 3 halo games(and a remake, if you choose to include it), 4 resistance games, 3 LB games and 3 Uncharted games. Each franchise has had at least 1 more game t...
What website are you on? Because here, the perception is the exact opposite.

3 different game designs and a total of 5 games.

One game design and 3 games(1 more than the highest smb game)
A better comparison would have been Halo:

Miyamoto(I'm pretty sure that's who it was) said that they regretted not having a Mario at launch for the 3ds. Nintendo has also said they have learned a lot from the 3ds launch, and won't be making the same mistakes.
