I left you a PM but I can post it here as well.

I didn't realize you haven't played the game yet. You have to give this game a go because the experience is NOT like Uncharted and you will find that out once you play. It truly feels like the older games but better in every way. No it's not chock full of puzzles and whatnot, but the exploration is still there to be found in the midst of all the action going on and at least they did include optional puzzles and puzzl...

"I also notice people are making sure to leave out Tomb Raider's mediocre attempt at multiplayer too. As usual people are always feeding their own fanboyism and bias. They make sure and leave out Tomb Raider's obvious flaws to try and one up Uncharted. The same things they made sure and gave Uncharted hell for they make sure and forgive Tomb Raider for.Where is the hate for Tomb Raider's crappy multiplayer or bland characters or magic recovering ability or cinematic moments or...

I have read reviews that state it feels like a Tomb Raider game to a great extent. It really does. It has Uncharted like moments but so does Underworld and Legend as well, and Legend was before Uncharted. The feel for the platforming and better puzzles are there, and exploration is there as well. It just needs to be expanded on in the next game.

I understand why they didn't focus on puzzles because that's not the Lara Croft they were trying to portray and have us kno...

They hardly stripped all of it away from the Tomb Raider game. It's still there, but like with most reboots they have to rebuild it back to what it once was one step at a time. Furthermore, I wouldn't personally want them to build it the same exact way as before, they need to continue on the track they are going when it came to the puzzles and platforming, just make them bigger and better though.

The puzzles and platforming are still there. The potential for them to b...

The platforming and exploration and puzzles took a backseat to the action this time around. That was an intentional thing because the story was what was supposed to be first and foremost. Telling Lara Croft's story isn't about solving puzzles and exploration as much as it is her surviving her first real journey.

Exploration is still big in this game though, you can spend hours finding all of the hidden artifacts and raiding tombs and whatnot without getting bombarded...

This is something that definitely needs to be worked on for sure in all games, not just this one. But the thing I don't get is why is it that most reviewers are jumping on this game in particular when ALL games do this? Plus, this game really didn't have a disconnect as badly as you'd think. Yes it's a type of disconnection and that's bound to happen between cutscene and gameplay like you said. But it's what Lara says when she's doing these things within the contex...

Infallible? Hardly? Killing machine? Yeah, she has to be otherwise what's the point? Lara Croft is a killing machine afterall, it's what she does best besides, of course, Tomb Raiding. But infallible in this game, she is not. She goes through so much and she is shown to have her moments of weakness; she gets battered and bruised in which "infallible" heroes hardly bleed or get scratched let alone all of the shit that happened to Lara in this game.

And why d...

*Continuation from above*

The voice acting in Tomb Raider was great, another thing I don't get as I read through these comments that people are saying the voice acting is bad. It's not bad at all. The grunts and groans from Lara, I saw someone complaining about that, she actually stops all of that about two hours into the gameplay so that should really be a non-issue at that point.

Furthermore, people are saying that Nathan is a better character than ...

I honestly don't see how you can say that Uncharted's puzzles and platforming are better than Tomb Raider. Not a chance. Platforming in Uncharted feels like Drake is a magnet and he's just flailing along to another magnet so that he can connect, it takes absolutely no accuracy to make the impossible jumps that he makes in those games. Lara, on the other hand, while not as "accuracy-dependent" as the past games still takes a far varying degree of accuracy to pull off her ...

Again, you would be foolish as a developer to see what the competition is doing and decide that you're going to try to just add on to existing formula instead of trying a new approach. You'd be left behind so fast and your sales would tank. I don't think it's silly that those things were optional because that's just giving the player more chances at maximizing their playing experience after the story the development team wanted to tell. The classic Tomb Raider play experie...

So old franchises aren't supposed to do anything new and different? Just the same old things until that franchise is burnt out and left to die? If they want to bring an entirely new audience to Tomb Raider they would be absolutely foolish to NOT get inspiration from what's being played by current players right now. It's not 85% like Uncharted in my opinion, more like 35%, possibly lower.

The rest still feels like a Tomb Raider game as Uncharted doesn't give y...

Nathan Drake Dude Raider. It can go both ways. Oh and it would be Crofts Fortune since Drake is his last name. I just think Lara has been a far more interesting story to tell than Nathan, and gameplay wise her platforming skills kill his in that they don't feel magnetic and linear.

First, I said as a "franchise" they are the most successful, again, look at Boxofficemojo.com for the results for "game to film adaptations" and you'll see it's number 1.

Second, the reason they didn't continue isn't because Angelina's 2nd film was a "flop", which it wasn't worldwide wise it was enough to bring in another sequel, but because Angelina said that she explicitly didn't want to play the character anymore at...

@Optimus, no I'm not wrong. I specifically mentioned "worldwide" the RE series fares better but in the US Tomb Raider is the most successful game to film franchise. Obviously most people liked the two films otherwise they wouldn't have made that much money now would they? Anyway, there's nothing wrong with getting a star to star in your film if it's going to make money that way. I think Jennifer Lawrence or Maggie Grace from Taken fame could play the young Lara Croft...

@Optimus, but they didn't suck at all and are considered the most successful video game franchise films from Video games ever. The Resident Evil series is second but that's because of the worldwide box office and not the US alone like Tomb Raider. Angelina Jolie was just fine as Lara Croft and the movies were good enough, they certainly weren't the worse out of all video game to movie releases that's for sure.

Yeah you're right because I am always online and active! I buy things from the store all the time too. They gave me the $10 just two days ago so people need to hold their horses if they think they aren't going to get one because they just might.

Angelina Jolie made the character a household name even further than the games did. My grandmother knows who Lara Croft is because of Angelina Jolie. Anytime I play Underworld and she sees it she says "Is that the Angelina Jolie lady on the game too?" So don't go dissing Jolie for making the character even more popular. If anything they need Jolie back again to play the role because with anyone else at the helm I just have a feeling it's not going to do well no matter how go...

@ meganick Yeah actually the PS3 IS a supercomputer, why do you think the military and researchers from around the globe use them? Not one PS3 by itself is, but a multitude of them can far out-compute any other supercomputer on the market even by today's standards. You should really do your research before just saying "PS3 isn't a supercomputer" because it literally is one.

LOL! So he wants the game to just stay within the fanbase and a big FUCK YOU to anyone else that may want to play but thinks the originals were WAY too hard or just new to the series I guess? That's a real good way of looking at things, just stay closed minded about everything and keep on making the exact same game to appease to a niche audience until you lose enough money to not make the series stand any longer. Got it! Thank goodness he's not running a video game company.

Yes I did play it. What does being a fan of UFC or general MMA have to do with counterintuitive controls? The controls SUCKED in that game. It wasn't FUN at all. Sometimes counterintuitive controls work for the player and sometimes they don't, EA didn't get it right in my opinion and THQ did with their UFC game. And it's a really ignorant thing to say that just because you're a UFC or WWE fan you probably don't know anything outside of those two when plenty of fans of ...
