but that is because of driver\firmware updates , game engine improvements and developer knowledge of the console.
But naturally MS could say it is because of THA CLOUD!
I could imagine that for crossplatform titles developers would be to lazy to make use of them (otherwise BF4 would for sure run 1080P).
As I could see it . They would be put mostly to good use for exclusive titles which would try to make use of very intense graphics. but then to downsize graphical glitches(like texture popups etc). i reckon killzone and deepdown making use of more than 2 (probably 4 )

Maybe Killzone and infamous look better than the general multiplatforms in FPS,resolution or colours. But killzone does not succeed in looking much better than BF4. BF4 has a lot more going on. The realism in BF4 is just better due to art form and game-engine.
