I agree with you, but I don't think it's either/or. Having some family-friendly digital versions of games lets us involve people who might not even want to touch the controller for any other reason. It's an excuse to hang out with family more. On the other hand, it's also cool to be able to play these games with people not in your home, as in on XBLA. I think it's a win/win, and shouldn't stop anyone from owning or playing the actual board game iteself.
Interesting they call it a "channel," a la the Wii.
now there are TWO games to get a PS3 for. W00t!
THIS STORY IS THE BEST NOT LIKE HALO.
;)
I think God of War has a more epic/legendary/psychologically deep story to tell than Halo. Plus, from what I've heard, it tells it in the game, rather than in tie-in novels. ;) J/K, shadow580.
I mean, what can they do? Where do they go from here? And when will it come out for the 360?
I think it's amazing how much psychology and drama is packed into this one game.
Hmmm. I got the Wii Fit today. Spent a ton of time on it. It's really quite a good simple workout. There's strength training, aerobics, yoga, balance training, and the like. The activities range from fun (ski jumping anyone) to serious (the strength training is pretty severe, if you want it to be) to ingenious (the running in place is much more fun than you'd think). I like the way it sets you up, calculates your BMI and sets goals for you. IT's something we all did together, which rocks as w...
depends on how big you are. Plus, you're not supposed to jump on the thing. It holds up to 330 pounds, so if you're more than that, you might want to try some gentle walking first.
We had tons of fun playing this in the first week of release, patch be damned. I should pull it out again soon and see how it is.
It really is a bunch of fun in a bucket.
This has a lot of heart and joie de vivre (spelling may be wrong). Braid has interesting design and melancholy. I'll take World Of Goo anyday. Some of the puzzles are hard, but most of htem are accessible without resorting to a walkthrough or FAQ. I'd say Braid was the opposite. Glad to see Go winning so many awards.
I hear your point. I'm wondering what games media you're talking about? MAinstream? Or the newer blogosphere of games enthusiasts with real critic cred?
Exactly. World of Goo. A downloadable game AND a Wii exclusive. There's tons of shovelware for the other consoles, too.
There are those that say that the best way to be disappointed is to get too attached to our own expectations.
And what's with the Wii hate? If gaming is about games you play and you have fun with, what the hell? The Wii is worthwhile.
I guess I didn't realize that joining a video game rating system was such a big deal. i mean, don't governments have other things to do?
and WHY was this a rumor?
Why do we care?
I'm not a sports game fan, but it shore is purty.
Man, you stole my comment! The iPhone rocks way to hard to consider any competing phone.
