I forgot about the PS3 60 gig (which by the way I owned one) that was 100 percent backwards. So you are correct. What I should've said was their hasn't been any console(obviously not PC) that has spanned back 3 generation of games.

Love the downplay from some. To have this many games ready to rock and just popping in your disks is awesome. No other generation has ever had this at launch. Great job on MS part to listening to their base.

Ah, I remember those days. Loved a good arcade.

After reading up on the subject their is no perfect solution. Less than 5 percent of lithium batteries will ever be recycled and are just as harmful. The tonnage of these type of batteries are on the rise. They aren't made to be easily recycled. By contrast AA batteries aren't made with Mercury and they've changed the formula to have a smaller impact on the environment. Doesn't mean their a 100 percent safe... But they've been around longer and refined through the decades....

At first, I just glanced at the picture and thought the light house was the Xbox series x...lol

So those devices still have a battery. How many people actually recycle them especially when they can't access them?

2160d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Your wrong, AA can easily be recycled. Not so easy with a battery built into the device. I know the majority don't recycle no matter what the setup, but even more so when it's hard to access the device...... eventually those Sony controllers will end up in the dump with batteries still in them.

Especially, when you have a bunch of fanboys with to much time on their hands fighting over how a controller is being powered........LOL.....whats next?

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. The only thing really holding this tech back is battery life and size. If they can figure that out, this would go mainstream quick

It was a good console and had some memorable games.

I used to live in Hawaii, so I know what you mean. Though Oahu doesn't have it too bad. That said the rest of Oceania, well that's a different story. Hopefully they have a plan for this. Who knows possibly Elon Musk satellites might pave the way.

An absolute beauty of a game. The multiplayer is incredible with real time traffic. Everything about this game screams next gen quality. If MS can do this for the rest of their games were in for a real treat this upcoming gen.

Holds up well for today, was ahead of its time. Who knows, possibly with the success of the newest Star Wars game. revisiting this game could be in the works? Now that would be an awesome surprise.

it was a small team doing a side project. Hopefully they support this title and it will get better

Everything in this tech demo is beautiful. But is their an actual game yet? Plus it seemed very sparse of citizens. I know they are taking on a huge universe, but it just seems they keep asking for money without much in the way of an actual game. Hopefully they'll come out with it soon.

Gabe said that Half-life should only be made to showcase a new experience in gaming. Since things haven't progressed in that area and certainly not to the mainstream. Until a new way of interaction comes along, we'll be waiting.

Oh you mean the ps3 which according to Sony prior to its launch was going to annihilate the xbox 360? The 360 led up till the end of that gen. That's even with the red ring of death, had that not happened it would of been a different story. That said, the real winner of that gen, which i pains people to admit is the Nintendo Wii. It handily beat both without breaking a sweat.
