They are a conservative company. Not surprised that they stay loyal to their workers. A lot of people complain about their pricing and sales, but that strategy brings stability. Which in turn keeps people employed.
My question is, why was there a sharp increase in development? The pandemic is blamed for a lot of things, but a massive rise in development costs???
I think these companies are making excuses to put more on less people.
Another question I have.
Wasn’t Unreal supposed to make development easier? Instead of building their own?
All sounds fishy to me.
Sony putting the dagger in deeper. What’s left of Bungie? Not much, sad to see the studio that have us so many great franchises becoming more and more of a shell of its former self……way to go Sony
Regardless of how anyone feels, the only traditional console maker is Nintendo. Sony is already releasing on PC and consoles. MS has completely gone off the reservation and is going all digital.
Of the three Nintendo the only traditional console maker at this point and time.
So a game that was promised over ten years ago. Everyone should just be okay with that? They have made so many false promises of releasing the game. I really hope this time he is genuinely following through.
As for the devs, why wouldn’t they be happy? Well for one they haven’t launched a finished game. Must be nice to suck up people’s money.
On that note, I can’t help but wonder how many people bought a ship in anticipation of the final product launch...
Just play it first, then make your judgements. Both views have their advantages.
I think you’re confused, MS said they weren’t doing a mid refresher. Rumors of Sony’s started swirling a couple years back.
It seems that anytime Sony takes any type of criticism, you can bet your bottom dollar some PS fanboy will drop MS into the conversation.
On the other side of the coin, all this is just pure nonsense. Companies are always making plans years in advance on some products. No controversy here just a company charting a course of action and e...
No competition, plus Xbox putting games on their system. Not surprised, hopefully this coming year we’ll see some new blood from their studios. Completely dump the PS4 and show us what the PS5 can do.
I remember when PlayStation one launched. I was in Hawaii on the Island of Oahu and went to the Navy exchange to see a demo. I was blown away by it. I couldn’t afford it a the time but my friend was able to and we had one hell of a time playing it.
On a side note I had another friend who worked at software ect. (Later to become GameStop) and they were allowed to take games home so they could tell customers about the games. He would borrow one go home and rip it on his comp...
A lot of youtubers have played the demo and it seems that they are bullish on the game. So hopefully that is a good sign.
Depends on how many games you play. If it one or two major titles a year and your on ultimate, well your losing money. But if you’re playing those couple of big titles and then 3 or more smaller games. You’re going to exceed what you put in dollar wise. Then after that every game you play beyond that is free.
This is a fluff piece to possibly gain favor with the company or they genuinely liked it.
Mass Effect, according to rumors have the same people working on it as Velguard. Hopefully that rumor is wrong, but same studio so it makes sense.
BioWare of old died a while back.
Interesting conversations, but what I’m concerned about is the actual cost of development which jumps every generation. Which leads to less innovation. How has any of these techniques led to greater innovation and cheaper development costs? Where are all the innovative titles this generation?
We always talk about resolution and bigger worlds. But that same record has been playing since day one. I would instead be more excited for physics innovations or the like. I do think...
Mowing down people up and down the escalators……priceless, lol
The switch lite came out two years after the launch of the Switch, which wS already selling like hotcakes.
Plus, factor in that at launch the PS2 didn’t have any real competition. Sega was floundering. Nintendo while always there wasn’t up to the challenge. The 3DO was a niche console. So they literally had the playing field to themselves, not to mention the 100 million the ps1 sold helped to keep people in the ecosystem. With the bonus of a brand new spanking dvd player. I...
@RpgSama
The PS2 also was a dual market console. DVDs were new back then and they had competition. PS2 was the cheapest dvd player on the market at the time. So it appealed to a lot of video enthusiasts back then. Which help it to reach a broader market.
You guys are playing the same old Card again and again.
Negative Sony article…..check
Defend Sony…….check
Blame Xbox or MS anyway you can to deflect……..check
lol, you’ll probably be saying the same crap years from now.
How original
Thanks for the links.
How do you get 18 thumbs down? The trolls are a trolling.
I agree, this holiday sales period will be interesting. Does the X outperform the S, or does the S keep the crown?
I think if Xbox X drops in price for Black Friday it could be the holiday champ for Xbox.
Quote from developer:
“Although it wasn’t too surprising, I still feel a bit emotional after securing everything. Everyone’s combat power is truly terrifying. The only thing missing is the Xbox robe… which somehow feels a bit wrong (but that 10GB of shared memory—without years of optimization experience, it’s really hard to make it work).”
Now up front the S is to blame. But notice what he says towards the end of the paragraph…
(but tha...
