Yeah right. That's the same line people were spouting at platinum games (along with death threats) cause the game they wanted wasn't coming to their console of choice.
Exclusives help sell systems, which eventually tends to have more sales in general all around. If you want the game, buy a Switch. Just like people had to for tomb raider, last of us, etc.
@captain
Regardless of this "anti-consumerism" bs, exclusives are not new. ...
@Edmix
Otaku is talking about ratio of software compared to hardware sales.
@darkfist if they cared so much part two would be on PlayStation.
PS4 pro, and Scorpio will not be the main models it competes with, everything will be built for the base models (both companies have even said that there will be no exclusives to the upgraded system).
And using that logic, why develop for Sony at all since Scorpio is more powerful? May as well only develop games on the most powerful system.
Plus it won't be as noticeable as people think since the screen is small compared to a regular tv screen, resol...
Oops that's right, my mistake! Lol
Yep, that's unfortunately how Nintendo systems are, though it should put to rest the whole "Switch can't run it" fiasco.
Edit - regardless of downgrades, people were acting like it absolutely couldn't be done.
I wasn't hoping that it wouldn't be at launch personally, because it would be a reason for me not to get 3rd party titles at launch, as my favorite franchise is Zelda, it'll be a day 1 for me (not to say I'm not gonna buy the 3rd party titles, as I own a good amount of the Wii U ones.)
Just gotta say, beyond good and evil is not a system selling game, it sold well back then, but not much when you compare it to other heavy hitters. It's like bayonetta, it's a good niche series, with a good amount of fans, but I don't see it moving consoles
Though this is an example on how leaks/rumors can hurt sales, if people think it's going to be a timed exclusive, they won't buy the system or the game until it comes to their system of choice.
They said in this article that if demand is there mass effect andromeda could come to it.
I'm not blindly pretending anything, but I've been hearing this doom and gloom shit for 15 plus years, it ain't happening no matter how much you think it will. The amount of software they sold on their hardware (and the amount of hardware they sold without taking a loss on, which is why they haven't done a price cut) has been pretty good, if they could break even selling a mere 2 mil copies of Zelda breath (there biggest and most ambitious title yet) then they obviously have h...
Yeah, people underestimate Nintendo hardware and it's capabilities.
Edit- obviously they don't put out hardware as strong as the other two, but Nintendo are still able to make great looking games with what they have.
Edit 2- @phunky for one, all we have are rumors to go on, two, the hardware isn't "old", three power does not dictate how old hardware is.
They can afford to do a lot of things, as shown with how much they are investing in other avenues to raise brand awareness.
(Btw xenoblade is considered first party, and fire emblem is first party lol)
Nintendo is not going third party if the Switch fails. They've have so much money in the bank, plus they are doing more brand awareness then they have ever done before dabbling in movies, tv, theme parks, phone games, etc, etc. they are focusing on one platform now, because tech has evolved so much that it is possible to. They've given the reasons for it, you just don't want to listen.
@edmix
No dude! You're not listening, it's not abo...
Obviously it's not going to reach PS4 levels, but the rumor everyone chooses to believe is that the Switch (undocked) is somewhat more power than the Wii U (which unlike people like to believe was stronger then the ps3).
Both, if you can afford it. Obviously though if ya can't, it just depends on your tastes.
Well, that's what you have extremely big and lucrative franchises.
They don't even "recycle" their games, they tend to change them up all the time, 2d metroid, first person metroid. All the different Mario sub-franchises, while the main series gets a new game every couple of years. All the different Pokemon franchises. Star fox 64, and star fox adventures.
I've never seen anybody give microsoft any flak for it, unless someone else gives anoth...
That's the thing though, certain big developers like EA don't care about making unique games to fit each consoles. They happy making yearly installment franchises with nothing more than slightly better graphics and updated rosters. And the fans will eat it up.
Wrong. It's funny how you're using rumors as if they are fact.
Don't forget that the collection was released less than a month prior to the "special edition/definitive edition" of the game.
Why are all these rumors marked as news?
They both sold reasonably well considering the hardware sales. (And with what happened to Rayman legends exclusivity)
