To be fair it could be Microsofts money that's bragging. :)
It's going to sell fine this year, hardcore collectors and xbox fanboys will keep it sold out until after this holiday. It's next year when things are going to get interesting.
And if the rumors that Sony is supplying 4x the amount of stock than Microsoft, that could be 4 times the installed base coming out the gate for Sony.
The extra money is for Kinect, a tech that has been shunned by gamers since it's inception. But because it had a good launch with casuals they think we want it. Then they tailor an entire E3 around hiding the fact that it even exists. So they seem aware we don't want it, yet they insist we have it and pay the extra for it. Just one of the many disconnects Microsoft has.
I believe this has already been debunked, but you probably won't want to sell it as you can't sell your software licenses.
They need to run Don Mattrick out of there, guy has no charisma and comes off as a sleazy used car salesman, I have never liked his presence. Problem is there isn't anyone that Microsoft has put on stage that doesn't come off as a complete douchebag, so not sure what they can do.
It's worse than Sony. At least Sony really had a machine that should cost 599$ at the time and just came off a generation that they completely obliterated the competition.
I'm not understanding where Microsoft is getting this arrogance. They act like they came in 1st when in reality, something they currently aren't living in, the Wii smoked them, and Sony has now surpassed them making them last place. On top of that their new machine has weaker hardware and ar...
I actually wonder if that's how you will input your physical game license, maybe an included qr code you just hold up to the Kinect camera. Or will it read it directly off the disk?
@edonus: MS doesn't even host multiplayer games, so better servers are meaningless. They played you for a fool if you believe that because multiplayer uses the same peer to peer and dev hosted servers that the PS3 uses.
haha I like it, but can you somehow work in 3DS and Vita in there also. :)
lol @ this coming from a dev who also tried to force the online issue and ended up with one of the worst game launches in recent history.
This was what they said about the PS3 and looks like it's going to be quite accurate.
Plus is only paywalling multiplayer, and it's not all multiplayer as free to play games and some other things are excluded. On top of that they give you discounts and games galore. With Gold you get removal of paywalls and crap discounts and it's 10$ more a year. No comparison.
Microsoft doesn't seem to understand that with games like Happy Wars and Tank World sitting behind the paywall.

Sony did the same thing on Vita with Motorstorm RC, it was called "free edition," and it was the full retail version. So if that's anything to go by then it should be the same, especially since Evolution Studios is the maker of both games.
Edit: Nevermind, just read an interview with Shuhei Yoshida that DriveClub free edition will be "a special edition with slightly reduced functions."
Welcome to Microsoft since 2009.
This, Knack, and any good multiplats and we get drive club free with Plus! Wish Infamous was a launch title.
Yep agreed, they want to get back to the age of greatness, and they are on the right track.
..and launch price.
I think a digital world works when you have an open platform like android and PCs and not so much when you have a closed platform like Itunes, PSN, and Xbox Live.
The thing that needs to happen with digital along with all platforms being open allowing for competing stores, there needs to be a license marketplace where you can sell or auction your digital licenses. I think then people will be more accepting.
The problem with Microsoft's plan is they are t...
