Yea Wifi 6 is a big misstep imho.
Wifi 6 has a lot of improvements in stability especially in crowded wifi environments. And wifi 6 is built with 5g in mind, they really weren't very forward thinking with the Series consoles.

Most of us would still buy PS5 even with out BC. We are buying it because we like the games Sony makes. I think most people would tell you the same thing we always said, BC is nice but we're buying it for the new games.

Sony is shipping 15m consoles before march 2021, I wouldn't worry about the first round of pre-orders. When the holiday rolls around and they start putting them on shelves the number of consoles available will ramp up dramatically.
Meanwhile Sony has managed to put out 3 big budget games this year and is launching 3 more with PS5.
