What the guy is saying is that although sony has almost won victory, they spent to much mony on BD and know they might not make it up. Although BD is superior to DVD, it hasen't even come close to beating DVD.Personally DVD is just perfect for me, i do have an HDTV but i really just dont see the point in wasting a lot of money in one that hardly looks any better than DVD upscaled to 720p (yes i have seen 1080p). My opinion is that DVD wont go anywhere for the next 5 to 10 years.

What the guy is saying is that (for those of u that dont know) Toshiba is a partner of Nintendo. Toshiba helps Nintendo in making the wii and what the guy is saying is that if Toshiba would have giving more money to Nintendo and insure they didn't have any shorteges, then that would have crippled ps3 sales, which would have also crippled BD sales. I mean realy how can sony be happy when DVD pwned the living cr@p out of them last year, DVD has what 90% of the market. BD has a long way to go in order to beat DVD wich i doubt will happen.

Out of the 6 major hollywood studios BD=4/6 , HD DVD=2/6
But the thing is that HD DVD has the 2 better once. Paramount and Universal are the top 2 hollywood studios. So its like BD has more support, but HD DVD has the better movies(especially with the new Indiana Jones coming out). And lets not forget that HD DVD has almost 1000 out their, wich is more than BD. Im not saying that i support either format its just that HD DVD still has some support under it.
Know that they mention it, I haven't gone to rent a movie in a year because i just decide to order them ON DEMAND. I Mean serouisly i really dont get the point in buying movies that you'll just see once and never go back. When I bout Superman Returns I watched once and its been their for over a year know collecting dust. I really think that for movies ON DEMAND is the way to go.

Yes they are making deals in DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION, but this parternship could also get them to make friends and support each others products.
However i do desagree with this morons who say it was over from the beginning. HD-DVD did have good apportunities to defeat BD, like when at first Warner did prefer u over BD but instead of pressuring them to u join u, u stayed quiet and let BD convince them to switch over to them exclusively. U were a good format, its just that toshiba didn't know how to fight BD and so u lost. If u were in the hands of a much more weaser company than u wouldn't be in this setuation.
