Definitely.
What's crazy is that Pokemon will make MH4 sales look like crap in comparison, haha.
@aawells07
It's funny that I'm not the creator of the video. I simply posted it here.
Right because when Pikmin 3 released it didn't help move Wii U systems.
Try harder.
Here's the thing though.....MS may have been turning a yearly profit back in 2009...and possibly even SINCE 2009...
BUT, they have not posted a net profit for the lifetime of the 360...or the Xbox brand in general even with games, XBL and so forth. That's what Rick Sherlund is getting at when he says they haven't made money.
They may have spent less than they earned YoY, but LTD is a disaster. I wouldn't be surprised if losses are close to $10...
I'm thinking that the screwy load times are due more to the way the game is developed. The Wii U's architecture is much different so unless it was the lead SKU, it will have to deal with PS360 code.
The fact that it has to do that and the one drawback is loading times is impressive. Once games come out that prioritize GPU processing over CPU processing (see: other next-gen ports and ground-up games) we should see the load times improve.
The main RAM m...
This is more of a Wii U problem than it will be for PS4. The Wii U is having a hard enough time getting multiplats as it is, and users won't buy completely gimped ports....as evidenced by 90% of the 3rd party titles released so far.
I know what the petition is asking for...but that is my two cents on multiplats in general.
I'm more excited about the potential than the launches. Neither the X1 or the PS4 has anything that makes me want to buy the console anywhere near launch. I already own a Wii U and everything coming out this fall through mid-late next year (assuming Smash Bros is a big fall title) will have me plenty satisfied as a gamer.
I'm definitely excited for Destiny and The Division....and hopefully all of these new IP's everyone keeps yammering on about. If we end up with ...
@Vishmarx
The Wii U had 29 games at launch, 37 by the end of the year. Just as a point of reference.
Apparently there should be just as many stories bashing the X1 as there have been stories bashing the Wii U.
Regardless of platform....I'm sick of it personally.
It's not DirectX anything....and neither is the PS4.
The Wii U uses OpenGL which is more like Manual Transmission to DirectX's automatic. It has OpenGL's equivalent of DirectX 10.1....but with more features from the DirectX 11 equivalent.
The PS4 uses the Playstation Shader Language which is a customized OpenGL that is equivalent to DirectX 11.
If you want to see what the big deal between DirectX 10.1 and DX 11 is...just google Di...
A system seller is LITERALLY any game that helps move consoles.
Pikmin 3 has helped move consoles in both the US and in Japan. It doesn't matter by how many...because an increase in sales was brought upon by Pikmin 3...and nothing else.
When bigger games release, more systems will sell, and so on. Pikmin 3 was just the start of the snowball effect.
Nope, the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect will be using Frostbite 3......same engine as Battlefield 4 and NFS:Rivals, eventually Battlefront and Mirror's Edge
I don't know about a hardware failure along the lines of RROD....but there definitely isn't going to be jack in the way of supply.
If X1 pre-orders are truly outpaced by PS4 pre-orders 4:1...and are locked out just like the PS4 ones are.....that's only 250k consoles. Sure there are some that aren't available for pre-order, but sheesh.
Another big problem with that is that with 8 countries pushed out of launch...the current countries that were ...
Oh, I'm fully aware of how sweet the Wii U is.
The best thing is that it doesn't cost an extra $200 to do basically the same thing.
PS4's remote play does not let you play it ANYWHERE, it lets you play games anywhere within wifi range of the PS4. There's a BIG difference.
You can play it outside on the deck, but you can't play it in the car on a road trip.
Maybe you should be the one who is pulling off their fanboy hat. Anyone that says anything bad about the PS4's remote play...you jump all over them.
Hey everyone.....don't forget you could play Gameboy games on the big tv using the Gameboy Player on the SNES...and then pop them back in the Gameboy to play anywhere in the house.
Sony didn't invent cross-platform, off-tv stuff that required a separate $200 purchase.
EU advertisements will start rolling out this next week and NA ones will show up in the first or second week of September.
They didn't start advertising their own first party franchise until it was around a week and a half from releasing. Also, Nintendo has kind of been devoting a lot of energy into advertising the game. TV commercials are nice and all, but what kid isn't on the internet today? Internet advertising is MUCH cheaper too.
Basically no one knows exactly what it is...or even what all it is capable of. People who analyze die-shots for a living aren't even sure. The only ones who know are under extremely strict NDA's from Nintendo.
We do know that it is based on the OpenGL equivalent of DirectX 10.1, but has features that are found in Direct X 11. I guess you could call it DirectX 10.5 or something silly like that.
As far as an off the shelf equivalent, there isn't one...
They key thing to remember....is that anyone using DirectX 11 is going to have to adapt the features if they plan on putting it on anything that isn't Windows or X1.
DirectX is a Microsoft product and no one else is going to be using it natively. Wii U uses OpenGL 4.whatever....equivalent of DirectX10.1 plus features from DirectX11. PS4 uses the Plastation Shader Language "PSSL" and anything will need to be adapted.
I wouldn't be surprised if this took a long time to get approved because of its positive nature. Which is simply ridiculous.
This is even better than when people lose 100 pounds doing Wii Fit or any of the Kinect exercise things. Truly a great story.
