Not that far off at all. PS Vita is between PS2 and PS3 while the WiiU is only slightly more powerful over PS3. Maybe 100-150GFLOP/s between them, Vita is more powerful than Wii though.
Too little, too late. Konami won't see a dime from me for this game and I can't wait for this master to develop his next genre-defining title.
125 million Steam users + GOG users only equating to 1.3 million sales is terrible compared to 36~ million PS4 / Xbone users buying 2.7 million copies.
As per usual, consoles are the bread and butter for developers.
They sold 2.1 million consoles in 30 days, no doubt both big exclusives were massive system sellers.
@vishant101 - It won't sell 3 million, not even 2 million at the current rate.
Resistance did 500k in 1st 10 weeks, managed 4.3m lifetime.
Sunset hit 700k in same timeframe yet is now only at 800k after several months on. Could struggle to hit 1 million lifetime if the drop-off is so rapid.
I personally think they made a mistake. The install base isn't the issue either, more that the user base don't buy those experiences on Xbox.
Put it this way;
Spyro (new IP) on a new console (PS1), sold 5 million.
Ratchet (new IP) on a new console (PS2), sold 3.3 million.
Resistance (new IP) on a new console (PS3), sold 4.3 million.
All 3 of those titles launched early in those console lifecycles, Resistance was day 1 on a syst...
Is The Phantom Pain his true vision anymore?
What will Konami do between now and release?
If Kojima isn't getting anything from this and his named been dragged through the dirt, why should I buy it?
I'll get it 2nd hand and support Kojima in his future non-Konami projects, they've lost me and no doubt thousands of others, their loss.
Absolute disgrace! He's single handedly carried Konami in the last decade. May even boycott The Phantom Pain dependent on further news.
Awesome stuff, great effort. Can't wait to create my own cities on this game.
@higgins78 - I'm afraid WiiU is hideously overpriced, has little quality as it's subjective and no quantity at all. 6 feature releases (MK8, Smash, DKC-TF, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad) last year with literally dead 3rd party support isn't quality > quantity, I'll get 3 of those games only (1st 3 mentioned).
5 (DK included) titles isn't pushing me to buy a system at £250 when I have 40+ titles on PS4 already digital & retail - nea...
8GB model is complete junk to anyone interested in digital-only & indie games. The 32GB model is hideously overpriced too compared to PS4 and Xbox One. £250 in the UK while PS4 is only £350 with bundled content too and a way larger library of content both retail and digital-only + far more games coming, £250 seems like a rip-off.
I'll get a WiiU eventually, for games like; Zelda U, Star Fox, Smash Bros. & Mario Kart 8 but it isn't worth £25...
Not 1 is a Square Enix created IP. All but Sleeping Dogs from their purchase of Eidos, Eidos is literally carrying Square at this point.
@R00bot - Reading comprehension may have something to do with getting plenty of condescending replies because not once did I state my opinion as fact.
Kurruptor clear noticed that I was only stating my own opinion and replied to you quite aptly.
I missed plenty of Sony games, Bloodborne is the obvious high profile one coming very shortly. Others that don't interest me include; Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Fat Princess Adventures, Hotshots Golf, Tearaway Un...
Ignore all the games I'm NOT interested in on WiiU and then list all the games I'm going to BUY on PS4. I've missed several PS4 games I don't care for too like; Bloodborne, not my type of game. Well done for trying though.
I only had Wii for the party games minus Zelda because of waggle controls. I'm only getting WiiU for; Zelda U, Star Fox, Mario Kart 8 & Smash.
The only 2 games that interest me are; Star Fox & Zelda U. I'll pick up others I've missed whilst waiting for Zelda.
It's decent, all 3 platform holders will have a good 2015 but Sony wins for me because; Uncharted 4, The Order: 1886, Ratchet & Clank (remake), Rime, ABZÛ, Alienation, No Man's Sky, The Tomorrow Children & The Witness. The Sony exclusives I'll definitely be getting.
So over 3 million people bought the game digitally? I highly doubt that.
Should I be surprised by the milk or the fact that MS is still supporting a series in decline?
(Forza 4 sold worse than Forza 3 & Forza 5 hasn't reached 2 million yet whilst being the only major racing simulator available in this gen)
16.84 million from 5 releases isn't anything to shout about either considering the money MS has thrown into this project. GT5 & GT5 Prologue are only 2 million shy alone.
As others have said;
PS4 sold the most hardware, by a long shot.
PS4 sold the most software, by a long shot.
PS4 has the largest market share, near 50%.
PS4 has more playable games of any variety;
PS4 has more free-to-play.
PS4 has more indies.
PS4 has more 1st / 2nd party titles. (21 games)
PS+ numbers have increased by several XXX% since PS4 launch.
PS4 won with ease and with "limited&quo...
Couldn't agree more, bland as I've seen them for such a big IP.
Shows have limited the Kinect still is too. How many times did it fail to register basic gestures around 30 second mark.
MS and/or Epic probably saved money here.
Embarrassing numbers from the biggest digital platform. SteamSpy has shown how free2play has taken over the service.
125+ million user, only 1.5 billion software "owned" in over 10 years of Steam, 0.5 billion of that is free2play games. PS2 achieved more in 6 years without free2play.
