I do love the Elder Scrolls. I played skyrim until my save file got too heavy to even load my game. that's a good 200+ hours (Yeah, ps3 version and all that's broken with it).
But paying 60$ for a game that I won't be able to return to after one month without paying an extra 15$ Yeahno. I expect a 60$ purchase to be usable anytime, without any extra charges.
I can go back to skyrim whenever I want, even if the game did get me kind of bored at the ...
Ooooooooh.
This looks awesome.
I hope they bring back MAJOR post-game content like Tales games of old. Xillia was a bit lacking in that department.
Meh. At 15$ a month, I see no reason to play this. Graphics are not good so far, gameplay looks half done...
I thought FFXV was going to have a 2016 release...
Yeah, that's pretty well said.
I've been watching some youtube videos, quickly skipping through those, and I think I'm gonna have a whole lot of fun with it. From the different opinions I hear about, those who enjoyed the two first games will find something to love in the final chapter. I enjoyed the two first games enough to complete 2 playthroughs, so I can't wait for the final chapter to come out. :)
Actually, such censorship would not have surprised me coming from the United States. But Europe? I understand there are many countries in Europe, but from my experience with french and italian movies, sexually active teenagers are common place in some European cultures...
Battle system really looks great, but I hope there's a way to turn off the costume change chime sound. I've been checking some battle videos on youtube and when it gets hectic, that little sound gets really tiring.
Still, can't wait to play it! :)
I am. I really enjoyed xiii and xiii-2.
Meh.
Incredible graphics have more to do with design and art direction than with technicality. This just looks like any generic shooter that could have been released in the past 5 years. Nothing to see here.
An engine is nothing without art direction to fuel it.
True that, I'm replaying the XIII series before Lightning Returns comes out, and the original ending perfectly closed the story of XIII. XIII-2 kinda went too far with all the time paradox / chosen by a goddess thing. I hope they reach a good conclusion with XIII-3. For now, my interest in that game is all for the new battle system and open world structure.
Yeha it had many good points. Music was incredible (That opening cinematic song!) and the magic fusion system for stats was great too. Plus, the critical damage button press input (straight from mario rpg!) in battles was great! As for the story, I don't remember enough of it to make a clear opinion.
It's just that all those closed locations at the end rubbed me the wrong way haha.
As long as they don't lock the whole game world in the last disc like they did for the original.
Truly, I expect a final fantasy to completely open up towards the end, not the opposite. VIII did just that, and that's maybe a reason why it doesn't stand so high on my list of best FFs evaaahr.
Oh please do. And show screenshots of Lulu. And have everyone go batshit crazy about sexism in videogames because BIG BREAST. That would be fun.
Joking aside, if they do make a X-3, I hope they keep X-2's battle system, it's one of the best system in any final fantasy game, I think (I like that they somehow got back to it for XIII-3).
It's not yet confirmed that the western release will be for 2014. It's winter 2014 in japan, and Atlus rarely releases games worldwide in the same quarter, just look at how long it took for Catherine to be released in the west...
HA! So Tri-Ace is again involved in the production of the XIII saga, that's where they've been instead of creating the next Star Ocean or Valkyrie Profile!
This reassures me somehow. Tri-Ace have always been the best for active rpg battle systems, and seeing how LR went full real time, I had some doubts. But now that I know Tri-Ace made it, I'm sure the battle system will be solid!
Funny how the author uses Lightning Returns as a point of comparison. I'm pretty much sure that S-E made Lightning Returns for the fans of the XIII saga, not for everyone and their grandmother, like a Mario game is always designed to be.
That said, I'm a bit sad about the low sales of Lightning Returns. The XIII series has such a bad press from haters that many people fail to see where those games succeed. (Of course they have flaws, but they are great games nonethel...
:o
I didn't know that Papo & Yo and Wizorb both came for my hometown. I tend to forget that there are other devs than Ubisoft and Eidos here... Those two giants are given all the attention by the medias.
Hey, Final Fantasy IX did better than VII!
I understand that. I always thought that of the three flagship final fantasy on ps, IX was the best.
As for me, I liked both the X and XIII sagas. Different beasts, for sure, but both have their high and low points.
Also, not that different. The basic structure of "Linear -> Wide open" is present in both original titles of both sagas. Only difference is that XIII doesn't allow you to revisit cocoon once you're done with it, but Gran Pulse offers many great areas to explore and the Titan challenges are good post-game content.
