Our culture is ours, Japan's is Japan's. Japan has a more novel view of transsexuality, where as it's culturally promoted in the West. If a Western publisher wants to bring material to the West, they need to do it for the people who want to enjoy the Japanese game with the Japanese mindset. It's silly that publishers are walking on eggshells (that's putting it politely) to keep a brute-forced pseudoculture appeased with their content.

I can't blame you for not being aware of the Comrades expansion, but yeah. There's Monster Hunter style Deploy-and-hunt mode that you can do solo for the (soggy) questline, or join with three other people to take on more iconic hunts from the main game. You make your own character and stuff, and it provides backstory to Noct's big nap. Personally, my favorite FF's are the ones that blend tech and fantasy. I enjoy Eorzea as a world because there's a big FFVI feel in terms of the naturally-developed nations vs the bruteforce.exe tech-heavy conquistadors.
