Plus, the best consoles are arguably the PS1, the PS2, the NES or the SNES.
I wouldn't really say the PS3 or the 360 are there yet, especially since their entire playbooks haven't been shown yet (ie this console generation still isn't done so they don't count yet).
In a way, I'm really glad they made the 360. Sony, at the beginning of this console cycle, was becoming really really arrogant. It was like really bad. It's kinda understandable since they had such a huge lead with the PS2 but they were just terrible to look at.
Along comes the 360 (and Wii too). The Wii took Sony's casual audience and the 360 took (or divided temporarily at very least) the hardcore audience. So it made them pull out all of their best guns. From MGS4 to Lit...
You know, this is actually really true. There are some people who only like FPS games now. Or all they buy anyways. A modern warfare (ahem) FPS games with a bad singleplayer and mindless multiplayer.
CoD4 was near perfect but because of its success, all the developers tried copying. Oversaturation.

Still play it till this day. I might even buy the "arc" thing when this supports it. And I've been very vocal on my dislike for these new motion controllers. Call me a hypocrite but I just love LittleBigPlanet.

Kinda off topic but this game is really really good. It might look like an above average game that looks like it deserves 8/10 but I just finished it for the first time a few days ago and it easily deserved those 9's and 10's it got.
The Scarecrow pieces are so mindbendingly perfect that they rank among the MGS series' "Fission Mailed" and Big Boss telling you to turn off your system in the original MG.

I actually liked Resistance 1. R2 had its problems but it was still pretty good on all fronts, especially the co op.
But R&C, that's a whole different story. R&C is easily one of my favorite franchises in all video games. I just finished ACiT the other day and it was great. Arguably the best in the series. Whether they'll continue making R&C remains to be seen but I'll always buy Insomniac's games day 1.

The demo (I think it was the demo, or maybe it was a video) bored me to tears for part 1. Hopefully they did some much needed improvements for this one.

Yeah the demo for inFamous sold me. Was really surprised by it. It always looked decent and was on my "maybe" list forever but I played the demo and loved it. It's like Sly Cooper minus the stealth.
Also since the very first time I saw Valkyria Chronicles, I just felt compelled to buy it. Played the demo and it sold me 100%. I was one of the people who got it the first week it came out.

Yeah, it's hard to deny that he and all of g4tv heavily preferred the 360 early on. You can't blame them since Gears 1 and Halo 3 were naturally so popular but Sessler is really one of the best, if not the best video game guy out there today.
I always agree with him on many many points and even when I disagree, you still have to respect him for his reasoning (read: his love for Fable 2 which just wasn't my cup of tea).

Well the only reason I loved GTA IV was the writing. I liked the gameplay but it was the writing I loved.
So I'm not sure this can exactly deliver on that front.
Also I was really disappointed to learn that it was a beat em up. I played the demo.
I guess someone can look at this as betrayal or something like that. I guess.
But who cares? Like really? Why care? Really, ask yourself that.

I just hope and pray and wish and beg that there's no spiders. Uncharted borrows heavily from Indiana Jones and those movies are filled with spiders.
I hope the mythical plot twist in Uncharted 3 (there's been one in 1 and 2) doesn't involve spiders.
And this is ND we're talking about. Spider caves in Jak and Daxter (weren't scary but whatever), that giant spider part in Jak 2 (creeped me out bad) and a very very very brief part in Jak 3 with spiders.

Yeah, Gears was pretty sick at the time. It's one of those games I can only really look back on and never play it though (and I'm one of those people who still replay old SNES, PS1 and PS2 games). The lack of story just bores me really really badly.
But without it, huge games like GTA IV and Uncharted wouldn't have the cover system. So yay for Gears 1.
And also, you can argue that one PS2 game that had the same cover system. What's it called? Well that. But...
