I have no idea where you got the Dissdia comparison. Nomura-san has stated that VS XIII will have a combat system similar to Kingdom Hearts except far more action based.
The reason it has fallen of the radar is already well known. We already know that some of VS's team was taking time out to help finish Final Fantasy XIII quicker and as a result VS XIII has been slow going. When that's the case it's obvious that little to no info will be made available.
Once Final Fantasy XIII comes out and the team gets back into I'm sure we will see and hear alot more about VS XIII

If you mean stop making Stunningly beautiful CGI movies that don't resemble gameplay then sure. I don't think anyone would care if the CGI movies were crappy as the game play would probably be better anyway.
Well Eternal Sonata did what you wanted. A character in the game*SPOILER* Claves is killed however near the end of the game there is a massive side quest you can under take to permanently resurrect her.
The game was aboslutely incredible and I was still playing it on a daily basis until I got SMT devil Survivor recently.
However I don't really think these guys did their research as they stat they are waiting for the inevitable sequel. Well I am sorry to burst your bubble but it will most likely never get a sequel.

Well it seems someone did their research. The poster brings up good points and is most likely right so it really seems as if we have nothing to worry about.
I can't help but think that something is being lost in translation. The jobs listing of Fighter and Sorcerer seems out of place. Considering that FFXI used the classic jobs from the older final fantasy games and Final Fantasy Tactics I don't seen why they would change that now. It should be Monk and Black Mage and not Fighter and Sorcerer unless they are changing it all to appeal to a more western audience which is very stupid if you ask me.
With the exception of Sam Fisher I would say most if not all of those characters are completely forgettable.
Well I will be the first to say that I am not really a racing fan(Burn out and Wipe out aside) This vid looked good but it didn't really look any better then the stuff I have seen for GT5 either. Then again it's hard to tell in a you tube video.
Well there was some games made for a middle east country not to long ago that was extremely offensive and pretty much consisted of killing every race other then themselves.
However I hope this deal wouldn't result in such and I doubt it would seeing as they have the involvement of a US company on board.
I have to say these screens are gorgeous. It really makes me more confident about the game after the recent screenshot controversy we have seen going around. It makes me think that perhaps the game will live up to our expectations and that square is just still in the process of polishing the game as best they can.
I would love to see this finally announced. I would also like to know a few more things about the console. Some have speculated that it will lose features as compared to the normal larger PS3. However I have been wondering if perhaps Sony will bring back full backwards compatibility to the Slim as it would surely make it a good reason to buy it.

indeed but those games came from studios who did not do CGI in their games traditionally whereas Square is famous for doing such. As well as the fact that those games looked incredible. Indeed most of them look better then what Final Fantasy XIII is starting to look like so it still makes no sense to remove the CG cut scenes.
This does to an extent annoy me. One of the greatest things that excited alot of people when they heard about Final Fantasy XIII was how square said they were happy to be working on the PS3 because of the massive amount of detail it allowed. Nomura-san said it was taking so long to make VS XIII and XIII because quite simply there was more detail to work on. Be it strands of hair or fibers in the clothing. However with these more recent screens that detail is getting lost.

There will probably only be the races from Final Fantasy XI expect redone abit like they said. The concept art on the Official Site does not show any race that would be new so i doubt they will introduce one. Seeing as their reason for keeping the races from FFXI was because they would be Familiar to players it kinda makes no sense to add a new one if it's not needed.
As far as Jobs you can pretty much tell what will be in the game looking at the logo it has...
I think the Avatar stuff is a rip off. This stuff should be like 25 to 50 cents maybe a dollar at MOST. You can buy DLC for games for that amount.
I do have to say that is a good thing as Blazblue is in my opinion one of the best fighters ever made. I myself am still playing the game quite a bit.
I think while MvC2 isn't really that great in terms of game play or balance what makes it a great game is the fan service in the form of all the characters. But then again you need to be a fan of said characters to really care about that aspect.
While I don't have a problem with cutesy games there is a problem with making a game overly cutesy and that is simply that there are probably better games in the same genre out there and went being cute tends to me a negative or makes the game seems like a kids game it really makes you wanna play one of the other countless games out there.
Truly one of the best fighting games out there. While it may not be the most balanced game ever it surely is one of the funnest.
While it is true that Versus was never put on hold it was held up and slowed down. Nomura did confirm that his team was helping the FFXIII team so as to speed up the development of XIII to get it out quicker. With that being the case Versus development would have slowed down to some extent even if it was never put on hold. Which would in turn lead to lack of information about the game.
