I honestly thought HEAVY RAIN would polarize opinion far more than it has - It seems to be getting a resoundingly positive reception so far, which is excellent.
My only worry is that I'm not going to have the time to devote to HEAVY RAIN that it clearly deserves - It isn't the sort of 'game' that you can dip into for a quickie, yet my time is rather at a premium right now.
Oh you poor brainwashed zombie, repeating what you've read on the internet and thinking it's STILL funny.
And you forgot to mention the Edge score - You're slacking!
Terry Gilliam??? If he approves of Heavy Rain, then I most definately approve of it!
I've said in the past that I prefer the digital version.
Good grief, some people want to have their cake AND eat it. They want all the features, but won't cough up for them. "You get what you pay for" is tossed about all too often with regards the PSN vs XBL argument but when it comes to the hardware, that's soon forgotten!
I was an early PS3 adopter - I paid for quality and I got it. Those who didn't have missed out.
No real mystery there.
QD have surpassed themselves in capturing what makes us look 'real - Truly stunning work (but did this site have to put "real" and "game" tags on some of the pictures??)
And are all four main characters modelled on real people? I get the feeling I've seen Ethan Mars somewhere before too.
I'm actually enjoying the game. It won't win any awards, doesn't take any chances and lacks gloss, but I certainly wouldn't class it as "bad" at all.
Army of Two 40th Day seemed to get an easier ride than AvP, and I found that groin-achingly awful. Traded it within 48 hours in fact...
So much for all that 'Kratos is losing his crown' bullplop we heard when Bayonetta came out.
"But we got an extra point on the 360 version!"
Hold onto that thought for dear life, 360 zombies... hold onto it!
And another bleating, mewling 360 zombie experiences the tunnel vision so commonplace amongst the brainwashed drones, conveniently (and ignorantly) failing to mention the fact that over SIXTY different sources have rated HEAVY RAIN a '9 out of 10' (or their equivalent) and that the maximum score has been handed to the game at least fifteen times.
Holy crap, you get four 'disagrees' for providing nothing but hard FACTS. Some of the bleating 360 zombies seem to be clinging to their fantasy world by nothing but their fingertips.
And brilliant list by the way! Seems like HEAVY RAIN is a critical smash and Edge are once again being the 'different kid'.
Like I've said in the past: Brainwashed 360 zombies and 'bad' PS3 reviews equals 'flies around $hite'. They wet their knickers with glee when the first '6' comes in, then 'la la lah' away the 9 and 10 scores which form the majority.
In all seriousness, this comes across as a legitimate mental disorder to me. A person who literally ONLY sees what they want to see and refuses to acknowledge the existence of anything that threatens their insecure little bubble of delusion is ac...
And he's used both accounts to 'disagree' with you!!
And I take great exception to being called a liar by a someone with no knowledge whatsoever of my gaming tastess.
I. DO. NOT. HAVE. ANY. INTEREST. IN. CROSS. GAME. CHAT.
I'm in the middle of a KZ2 game, why should I want to split my concentration and start rabbiting with someone playing MW? If I'm so bored with a game that I'm looking to switch to another, I'll leave the game in question anyway.
Then you're clearly well below the "maturity" level for HEAVY RAIN then, aren't you?
"Shadow of the Collossus" = "just another game, pal".... A comment both pathetic and hilarious.
So your logic dictates that Halo is "just another game", Mass Effect is "just another game" and Alan Wake..? you guessed it: "Just another game pal".
One has to wonder how the hell you got into this hobby in the first place with such a sneering, derisory attitude.
I currently own a PS3.
I have formerly owned (and still own a few of):
Coleco 'Pong'
Atari VCS
SNES
Mega Drive
Mega CD
Nintendo 64
CD32
Gamecube
Atari Jaguar
Gameboy
Gameboy Colour
Sega Saturn
Dreamcast
PS1
PS2
XBOX
and for a very short time, an XBOX 360.
So, basically, shut yer gob.
Good to know - I actually bought my Jaguar for the original Alien vs Predator and still have it up in the attic somewhere. Despite the rotten frame rate and samey scenary, it was rather a fun ride.
Grapefruit?
Sifting through these reviews for AvP is like peeling an onion: First skin equals 'good review', next layer says it's crap and so it goes on.
Just shows you how pointless reviews ultimately are; If a game is genuinely, absolutely "bad" you'd think everyone would say the same thing. I'm still leaning towards getting AvP, simply because I enjoyed the others so much and that too many people are contradicting the low scores.
"PS3 fans can't wait to experience on PSN"???
I don't know if that refers to the majority or not, but it sure as fudge doesn't apply to me - it's a service I have ZERO interest in. As such, playing PS3 games online will contine to be FREE as far as I'm concerned.
Very liberating to know that.
They want our money, but aren't prepared to invest time in order to earn it?
Great work ethic!
