I do not play the modern military shooters, so maybe I am uninformed, but is MW3 excluded from a perfect score consideration?
There are asshats everywhere in online gaming, and battlefield is no exception.
I always have felt that gamers were hardcore and not the games they play.
I am with you Carlos, The FPS has been my favorite since MidiMaze, and will remain that way, as long as there are choices other than modern warfare type shooters, that is.
I certainly hope the quality of the broadcast improves. i found last years to be crass, and misrepresentative of gamers and gaming culture.
"All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really know you,
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand,
Some gather together in bands,
The bleeding hearts and artists,
Make their stand.
And when they've given you their all,
Some stagger and fall.
After all it's not easy,
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall."
Pink Floyd
That song popped i...
I am great with it, I have zero need to kill a child in a video game ever.
"Violet Riots "
So a purple riot broke out? I bet that was interesting.
Must be one hell of a mp experience to override a "not fun" sp campaign.
PONG at Sears when I was 5 years old.
Maybe PU means Product Unveil.. Speculation is fun sometimes.
Well said. I prefer the 10 point scale.
And, from what I understand, B:AC is a beast and well deserving of the praise that it is receiving.
With there being so many people that game, write about games, review games, having a singular GOTY seems impossible. We need a respectable singular organization like an "Academy of Interactive Entertainment and Gaming Sciences" that hands out the equivalent of an Oscar. What we don't need is more Doogie Howser, and a throng of presenters making penis jokes.
Incidentally, my GOTY is the same that it has been for the last 4 years, and that is TF2. :)
So is that what you do go around stalking people that have contradicted your opinion, and grade their comments? I'm flattered /s
In the end, I do not correct anyone, if a person has enough belief and conviction in what they write, then my words should be inconsequential in changing their view.
And, in regards to my comment, I believe that the person is in error in thinking that the RROD argument is still the issue tha it used to be. Aren't I entitled...
That statement is totally in error.
Whats funny is just how much of the world the US does equal. And for those that are curious that would be 4.48%.
How do you qualify an article that is illustrating the sales differences between consoles in a region flamebait? Just because we personally disagree with a topic does not mean the topic is in error or is flamebait. Gamasutra is a respected industry website, and not just some hacks trying to get hits.
Or maybe it could read "some gamers". I despise it when a single person believes he/she is speaking for the millions upon millions of gamers. I find it to be arrogant, and a sign of youth in many cases.
Having not listened to the podcast, I am only responding to the question posed in the title. How many genres are there? I personally feel that even if there were a 100 genres, it is hard for me to believe that such a small number could be a comprehensive representation for the millions upon millions of people that play video games?
Don't feel old, feel mature.
