I agree, a common vocabulary would be great for developers to have in their toolset for Kinect. I think it is strange that Kinect has only been on the market for 8 months, and yet its detractors would have us believe that it is a failure. Anyway, well said.
I disagree. What would prevent Dbags from just changing their name after a night of griefing, or all the racist from spewing their hate in a different form every day. I believe, forcing people to pay helps maintain accountability. Do the other console makers require payment to change an identity?
Rage is my most anticipated FPS (outside anything Half LIfe), and I look forward to exploring the world and meeting all of the characters in the game.
Great, I hope the veracity of Mr Henson's statements are proving correct. Kinect is a blast, and has been the root of so much fun in my house. If Kinect follows the example of other technologies, it will constantly improve, and will still be improving 5 years post-release. Rare did a great job with KS, and look forward to more from it.
Sounds great.
Just remember, where one lives may not be indicative of somewhere else. The town, where I am from has about 300k people, andwe are nothing like Chicago, are NY. There are places 20 minutes from where I live that the only internet you can get is 56k or Dish. It is presumptuous to think that a "one size fits all" sticker applies from one geographical location to another.
What did you have to do with a mouse to perform moves on Torchlight? When I heard my friend play it, all I heard was click click click...
Man, i can't be any more excited, for RAGE, than I am today. As far as FPS's go, it is my most anticipated one of 2011. I like reading a preview when the previewer is pumped, and can't wait to get back in the action.
You are consistant DrFU, I will give you that.
My first thought would be people that buy into reality television can't be that bright, but I really am not here to sit in judgement of anyone else. If someone wants to spend money on something that is their right, I know i have made some stupid purchases in my life, but hey it was my money to blow, and my ego to try and rebuild afterwards.
I know, I often wonder if Subject-Verb agreement is even taught anymore.
I honestly feel the importance of the so-called core gamer has diminished with the rise in the social acceptability of gaming. Sure we are the loudest most enthusiastic group in the gaming demographic, but what percentage of the gaming public are we. And, what are the prerequisites to be in the "core" gamer metric.
If there are 87 million Wiis sold, how many of those belong to core gamers? Out of the 55 million 360's sold, how many of those are for the core fan? I don...
Nice. Looks fun and very entertaining.
Hey MrSpace, I am not telling people to keep their opinions to themselves; I am letting them know that they do not speak for me, or anyone I know. I do think it is funny that I am being called a fanboy because you do not like what I say. Just put me on ignore and we won't have this problem. Honestly if you believe I am telling people to not express their opinion as facts, then you are correct, but I would never "disallow" (like I could) someone from stating their opinion. Besid...
I agree.
If you took my comments as a gauntlet being thrown then you are way off. You are a generalizer, and deliver your comments as incontrovertible facts. I disagree, that does not mean that I want to argue, but since you are in a 360centric article, bemoaning how awful Kinect is, you shouldn't be surprised if someone questions your opinions, or has a dissenting one from your own.
How can you speak for a "majority" when the owner base for video games consoles is in the 10's of millions, and the comment sections on N4G is hot if it has hundreds of comments. You are entitled to your opinion, but please realize that you speak for you, not some so-called majority.
@gamingdroid
Well said, here is another bubble. I love Kinect for how it is now, but I truly look forward to how it might become.
Great interview. I love interviews when the interviewee is pumped and excited about what he/she is doing. I applaud Rare for making Kinect Sports so fun, but mainly for giving me the chance to bowl again.
Actually Id has previously shown the 360 version in many of the public showings. I came in here to see what the PS3 previewers had to say, and it is nice to know they are as pumped as the 360 previewers have seemed to be.
"but the total package looks breathtaking. It’s especially impressive given the ultra-high framerate, lighting detail, animation, and massive environment size. It looks like nothing I’ve seen on a console."
that is awesome to r...
